Morning Decrees
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I
direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. Psalm 5:3
Each new day is a gift! As we wake up, we have the opportunity to honor God with
our worship, our prayer, and our thanksgiving. The Bible says to decree a thing and
it shall be established (Job. 22:28). According to Webster’s online dictionary,
decree means an order usually having the force of law, a judicial decision of the
Roman emperor, a religious ordinance enacted by council or titular head, a
foreordaining will.
These definitions provide insight into the governmental authority that resides in
our profession. As we declare the word of the Lord over our day, we are setting
Kingdom plans and orders into motion. We are serving notice on the powers of hell
that they are rendered null and void. Our prayers and decrees unlock realms of
power and authority.
It is imperative that we begin our day with the decree of the Lord on our lips. We
have the power of life and death in our tongues. We can bring great peace and
blessing into our home, family, and work environment by rightly beginning our
day in prayer. As we enter into prayer, we are giving God the very first fruit of our
day.
Jesus loved to seek the Father early in the morning.
And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. Mark 1:35
Even in the midst of breathtaking miracles, Jesus departed from the crowd of
people to spend time with the Father. He wanted to get His instructions straight
from His Father. There is power in seeking the Lord at the head of your day.
Many people are busy and preoccupied with various responsibilities. Some are
overwhelmed with all of activities of life. They may feel as though they do not
have adequate time to begin their day in the presence of God.
That is one of the reasons why we have created this simple book of morning
prayers and decrees. We want to provide critical tools for people who have a heart
for the power and presence of God. Do not let the enemy talk you out of taking
!3
your place as a Priest and King. Get your directions in the glory! Assume your
rightful place in prayer and launch each day with decrees that access Kingdom
Power and Promises.

(Mark 11:18)
!4

Closing
Your words are powerful. View your words as keys that unlock doors in the realm
of the spirit. Choose to launch your day in power and authority. Choose to speak
life over your mind and your family. Choose to decree the word of God and refuse
to give up any ground to the devil. When you decree you are walking by faith.
Faith Keys
Faith must be targeted…
Mark 11:23: say to the mountain- identify it and target it with faith. The spirit of
faith is a speaking spirit. The reason that you decree and declare is to loose God’s
power over your life. Jesus instructed us to say directly to mountain! To prophesy
the word of God. This is the key for victory!
Faith is now…
Hebrews 11:1: Faith is a present working power. It is neither past tense nor future.
It is declaring now. It is speaking now. It is receiving now. The enemy will try to
contaminate your faith by putting off the promise. He will tell you it might happen
sometime in the future, but not now. He is simply trying to talk you out of God’s
plan.
Faith must be released…
Faith is like a spiritual arrow that must be released. When you are speaking, you
are releasing your faith. You are shooting missiles in the realm of the spirit taking
out the strongholds of the enemy. Launch your decrees of power. Launch forth by
the promise of God. Launch forth by decree. Launch forth by divine power.
This day is a gift from God. Determine in your heart to enjoy it, maximize it, and
seize the potential of it. God’s plans are working in your life. God’s will is present.
God’s wisdom is upon you. Choose to stand in the place of power, the place of
prayer!
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of
God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. This is the confidence which
we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the
requests which we have asked from Him. 1 John 5:13-15
!14
Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face continually.
1 Chronicles 16:11
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, But the prayer of
the upright is His delight. Proverbs 15:8
O Lord, I call upon You; hasten to me!
Give ear to my voice when I call to You!
May my prayer be counted as incense before You;
The lifting up of my hands as the evening offering.
Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth;
Keep watch over the door of my lips.
Do not incline my heart to any evil thing,
To practice deeds of wickedness
With men who do iniquity;
And do not let me eat of their delicacies.
Let the righteous smite me in kindness and reprove me;
It is oil upon the head;
Do not let my head refuse it,
For still my prayer is against their wicked deeds.
Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock,
And they hear my words, for they are pleasant.
As when one plows and breaks open the earth,
Our bones have been scattered at the mouth of Sheol.
For my eyes are toward You, O God, the Lord;
In You I take refuge; do not leave me defenseless.
Keep me from the jaws of the trap which they have set for me,
And from the snares of those who do iniquity.
Let the wicked fall into their own nets,
While I pass by safely. Psalm 141(NASB)
As you make these decrees and confessions, you are standing before the Lord,
aligning your life with His word. You are declaring His promises and accessing the
breakthrough realm. You are putting the power of God to work in every area of
your life. Your day is being saturated in His presence and you are walking in an
open Heaven! Now, expect the power of God everywhere you go today!
