Learning The goal is to give students the opportunity to reflect, depict, compose and express through art.

- lean about the elements of art such as color, shape and symmetry through the
stained glass visual.

- students will learn techniques ( such as basic cutting, and creating something

 Music pre assessed for appropriateness-  Markers

 Story books prepped for the end of the lesson if  Prepped music
there is extra time left.  Scissors
 Snow flake window ready for the class and cut out
 Power point ready to show the class on the brief  Story book back up
history about what a stain glass window is.

PROCEDURE
Introduction Time

 Question and response discussion with the class do you know what a stain glass window
is?
Explain what it is with FUN FACTS:

 No one fully knows when stained glass windows started.

 Stain glass windows were used in churches, homes, for ceremonies, and even for _20minutes
decoration.

 Stain glass windows are made of colorful glass cut into many different shapes and
sizes.

 Something special about stained glass windows is that it uses sunlight to shine and
display its beautiful image.

Body Time

 The teacher will introduce the art activity ( stained glass window )
 The teacher will talk through the steps with the students
 The teacher will have the students start their independent art activity and the teacher
will turn the music on for the class to calmly work on their art pieces. _30_
minutes
For students who are done early :
Coloring sheets will be provided.

Closure Time

 At this point when the 30 minutes are done the teacher will have the students clean and
place their stain glass windows on the ledge or table to dry.
 When students are done they are able to read alone, or color quietly. 10 minutes
