GCSO LAW ENFORCEMENT SUMMARY


FEBRUARY 25, 2019 – MARCH 3, 2019

On Monday, February 25, Deputy J. Page travelled to the Woman’s Florida Reception
Center in Lowell, Florida, to pick up state inmate Hannah Nicole Johnson (21) on a
transport order and transport her to Gulf County to attend judicial proceedings the
following day. Sgt. D. Sander’s transported her back to Lowell on Wednesday, February
27.

On Monday, February 25, Billy Joe Barfield (47) turned himself in to the Gulf County
Detention Facility to be booked on a warrant for Violation of Probation. Barfield is on
probation for three counts of Battery.

On Tuesday, February 26, David Sean Roberts (46) was transported to the Gulf County
detention Facility from the Liberty County Jail to be booked on warrants for Violation of
Probation. Roberts is on probation for three counts of Possession of Methamphetamine
and Providing False Information to a Pawnbroker.

On Wednesday, February 27, Deputy M. Peek and Investigator S. Ferrell executed an


arrest warrant on West Arm Drive in Wewahitchka by arresting Shawn Derrick Reynolds
(32). Reynolds was wanted for Violation of Probation on the original charges of
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving While License Suspended or Revoked.

On Wednesday, February 27, Deputy M. Peek and Investigator S. Ferrell executed an


arrest warrant on Laurelwood Street in Wewahitchka by arresting Kimberly Denise
Rhames (47). Rhames was wanted for Violation of Probation on the original charge of
Possession of Methamphetamine.

On Wednesday, February 27, Deputy M. Peek and Investigator S. Ferrell conducted a


traffic stop on Gone Fishing Street in Wewahitchka. During the course of the traffic stop,
deputies identified a passenger in the vehicle as William Warren Brady Griffin (26). While
running a wanted persons check on Griffin they learned that Griffin was wanted in two

different counties. He was wanted in Levy County for failing to appear in court on charges
of Driving While License Suspended or Revoked. He was wanted out of Hardee County
for failing to appear in court on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession
of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving While License Suspended or Revoked.

On Wednesday, February 27, Deputy M. Manley was dispatched the 2000 block of Hayes
Avenue to investigate a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area. The reporting person
stated that they believed the suspicious vehicle was occupied by Michael C. Riley Jr. (31).
The vehicle was parked near a house which was occupied by a victim of domestic violence,
who has a protection order against Riley. The protection order prohibits Riley from
coming within 500 feet of the victim’s residence. Deputy Manley verified that the vehicle
was in fact occupied by Riley and that the vehicle was within 500 of the victim’s residence.
Deputy Manley learned that the victim was allowing Riley to stay at the home, which is a
violation of the protection order. Riley was placed under arrest and charged with
Violation of an Injunction for Protection Against Domestic Violence.

On Thursday, February 28, Deputy M. Peek and Investigator S. Ferrell conducted a traffic
stop on Hwy 71 near the intersection of Midway Park Drive in Wewahitchka. Deputies
identified the driver as Stacy Leianne Fuder (38) and a passenger as Loretta Lesha
Swearengin (30). During the course of the traffic stop, Deputy Peek deployed K-9 Brix to
conduct a free air sniff around the vehicle. Brix gave a response indicating the presence
of an odor of illegal narcotics in the vehicle. When both subjects were asked to exit the
vehicle, Fuder was observed dropping a glass pipe. Fuder was taken into custody and the
pipe was retrieved. The pipe had methamphetamine inside it, so Fuder was charged with
Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Deputy D.
Huggins was called to assist by searching Swearengin. Swearengin was found to be
possessing a small plastic container with methamphetamine inside it. Swearengin was
placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.

On Friday, March 1, Deputy C. Kesterson responded to a report of a domestic disturbance


in the 300 block of S. Squirrel Avenue in Howard Creek. During the investigation, Deputy
Kesterson determined that Cassa M. Gardner (33) was the aggressor in a physical
altercation involving a boyfriend whom she cohabitated with. Gardner was placed under
arrest and charged with Domestic Battery.

On Saturday, March 2, Deputy P. Young was dispatched to the 500 block of S. Hwy 71 in
Wewahitchka to investigate a report of a prowler in someone’s yard. When Deputy Young
arrived, he located the prowler still in the area. The subject was identified as Anthony
Dewayne Russell (53). Russell appeared to be disoriented and could not explain exactly
what he was doing but did say he was living in a wooded adjacent to the complainant’s
property. Deputy Young ran a warrant check on Russell and learned that he was wanted
in Gulf County for failing to appear in court on a charge for attaching an assigned
registration plate to another vehicle. Russell was placed under arrest and transported to
the Gulf County Detention Facility.

On Saturday, March 2, Randall Ray Holden (39) was arrested at the Gulf County Detention
Facility on writ for failing to pay child support. Holden was apprehended in Polk County,
Florida, and was transported to Gulf County by a contract prisoner transport service.

On Sunday, March 3, Deputy P. Young was dispatched to the Coin Laundry on Hwy 22 in
reference to a criminal mischief. During the night, someone had taken pieces of brick and
threw them through the windows of the business. Nothing appeared to be disturbed
inside.

On Sunday, March 3, Deputy P. Young was dispatched to Byrd Avenue in Wewahitchka to


investigate a theft of a four-wheeler. The owner of the four-wheeler reported that a
green Yamaha Big Bear 400 was stolen from his car port. A suspect has been developed
as Deputy Young continues to investigate.
