Understanding Remedial Law Basics

Remedial law details the methods for enforcing civil rights and provides the process for legal claims when civil rights have been violated. It differs from substantive law, which defines how facts in a case will be handled and crimes charged, by establishing the procedures for how enforcement of substantive law will occur through legal proceedings that may involve trials. Remedial law is one of the subjects covered on the Philippine bar exam along with political law, labor law, taxation law, civil law, mercantile law, criminal law, and legal and judicial ethics.
