Sabarmati Ashram

The Sabarmati Ashram museum in Ahmedabad, India was designed by architect Charles Correa to honor Mahatma Gandhi. The design uses a casual meandering layout to guide visitors through interconnected buildings towards a central water court. Correa drew inspiration from Gandhi's words by using natural ventilation and avoiding full walls. The simple post-and-beam structure is constructed with local materials like brick, stone, wood, and ceramic tiles.
