REACTION PAPER
(Gods of Egypt)
A super action fantasy and methological movie of ancient Egypt. A very good and
interesting movie about Gods and Goddesses, immortals and afterlife. The Gods differ from
humans by their height, golden blood, and ability to transform into their divine grace.
The land of compassion and generosity during the time of noble God Osiris turned upside-
down when God Seth returns to the coronation day of his nephew God Horus (God of the Air)
to murder King Osiris. Thereafter, God Seth take the throne and as time passes and the people
of Egypt find themselves wholly enslaved by the absolute ruler. The mortals were labored of
building monuments and the obelisks as a tribute to the wicked ruler.
The Egyptian eligion were very unbiblical, their beliefs changes depending on their ruler. For
example, when king Seth ruled he required you to give enough money and riches to go in to
the after life. After Seth was defeated, Horus changed the afterlife requirements to being a
good person and doing enough good deeds to get into the afterlife. And also the worldviews
of our planet Earth in the movie was flat with day side and night side with a sun being
dragged around by God Ra's chariot which obviously contradicts what the Bible and Holy
traditions really says.
Infrastructures and architectures are very well empressive and expressive due to the drawings
and symbols printed on it. Their accessories, stuffs and materials and body armors are mostly
made in gold. The designs from floor plan going to the walls and posts up to the ceilings are
really great. Printed symbols were also visual in their costumes and dressing.
In conclusion, the movie is interesting and it connote the Egyptians religious structure with
multiple Gods and it tells us how powerful and great the ancient Egypt was. The final message
in the movie "the after life must be earned not by gold, but by good deeds, compassion and
generosity; what we do in this life matters."
