Installing ANKO Software
Installing ANKO Software
Hardware requirements
The ANKO software runs on IBM Personal Computers or compatibles, under MS Windows NT, MS
Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8.
In general, to run ANKO software packages the hardware must at least be equipped with a Pentium
processor, a super VGA graphics adapter with resolution of 1024x768, VGA color screen, a hard
disc, a two buttons mouse and at least 16MB of RAM memory. A higher configuration, is, however,
strongly recommended.
The installation of the standard ANKO Marine Load Planner configuration will require approximately
500MB of free space on your hard disk.
This space may be significantly lower in case less vessel’s documents are included in the installation
(single vessel). Every new vessel to be added in the software, more space is required (according to
the size of the documents included in the installation)
In those cases where ANKO is delivered on a CD, to install the software follow the steps below:
1. Installation from CD
- Start Microsoft Windows
- Insert the CD in Drive D:
From Start select Run. Type d:\setup and press ENTER
- or, browse the CD and double click the setup icon
- Follow the setup instructions
In the above example, D is the CD drive
It is to be noted that the program and data files must be installed in the same directory (the default
installation directory is C:\ANKOW). This must be kept in mind, so that in case data files for
additional ships are installed in the future, these are placed in the directory of the initial program
installation.
The set up program automatically adds a shortcut item in the Start Menu Programs bar and at the
user’s desktop.
Upon completion of the installation, you can start the ANKO Marine Load Planner by double-clicking
the “ANKO Marine Load Planner” icon on the desktop or by selecting Start \ Programs \ ANKO
Marine Load Planner.

Notation: Please note that in some cases the stored conditions from the existing installation cannot
be transferred to the new one. Such cases may be the addition of deck cargo loading, the
modification of one or more compartments, very old existing ANKO version, etc.
b. Online settings
For versions with Online module before the new program installation, please make a copy of
C:\ANKOW\ANKO.INI and keep it safely apart. If you have any problem with ANKO online mode
restore ANKO.INI.
The vessel code is shown at “About” window, which can be reached from the “misc” tab in the main
menu.
