Adjustment layers allow modifications to an image's colors, brightness, and other properties without permanently changing the original image. To open an adjustment layer, click the "New Adjustment Layer" option. Adjustment layers have icons and masks that allow effects to be selectively applied. The mask can be painted on with white or black to reveal or hide the adjustment in different areas of the image. Layer styles add graphic effects like shadows or glows and work well for customizing logos and text.
