Base Plate (Template)

1) The document provides design details for a base plate to support a W14x193 column transmitting factored loads of 2 kips (Hx) and 3 kips (Hy). 2) Key dimensions of the base plate are determined to be 28 inches for both length and width, with a thickness of 1.5 inches. Four 5/8-inch diameter anchor bolts spaced at least 6 inches from edges are selected. 3) Shear lugs measuring 28 inches long, 2.5 inches high, and 1/4 inch thick are designed to resist the 3 kip Hy load using fillet welds between the lugs and base plate.
