Theme: AGRINNOVATE: Revolutionizing Agricultural Outlook for Sustainable Growth
Contest Guidelines
A. QUIZ BEE
1. The contest shall be conducted in a Quiz Show format.
2. There shall be four (4) rounds for all categories: Easy, Average, Difficult and Clincher.
There shall be 5 (five) easy questions, five (5) average questions and five (5) difficult
questions. All contestants shall answer in the three rounds. Each correct answer in every
round will be given corresponding points to wit: Easy..... 1pt. Average..... 2pts.
Difficult..... 3pts.
3. The easy items shall be in multiple choices, where the average, difficult and clincher shall
be in identification type. The coverage of the items in Grade 7 & Grade 8 will be based on
the learning competencies from the first Grading to Third Grading and for the Grade 9 and
Grade 10 will be based on the learning competencies (cover to cover), trivia and scientific
breakthroughs.
4. The time allotment to answer the questions are as follows: Easy ---- five (5) seconds
Average, Difficult and Clincher ----ten (10) seconds
5. Each contestant shall provide his/her own flashcards for writing his/her answer.
6. The quizmaster shall read each question twice and the time shall start only after the
quizmaster says “go”.
7. The contestants may begin to answer only after the quizmaster says “go” the contestant
must write his/her final answer on the flash card. If a contestant wishes to change his/her
answer, the former answer shall be crossed out and the final answer encircled.
8. All answers must be spelled correctly to be considered correct. If the answer is a proper
noun, capitalization of the first letter of the word is also a basis in declaring an answer
correct.
9. Questions shall indicate the number of significant figures for numerical answer. Use of
calculators shall NOT be allowed.
10. After the time limit has expired, each contestant must show his/her answer before the
quizmaster reads the correct answer. The proctors shall read and acknowledge whether the
answer of the contestant is correct or not.
11. If the proctor cannot determine the validity of an answer, the board of judges must
decide on the matter. The decision of the judges is FINAL.
12. Solutions maybe checked by the board of judges if needed.
13. The total score of a contestant after three (3) rounds shall be his/her score.
14. The contestants with the highest final score shall be declared as the first place winner,
the second highest as second place winner, the third highest as third place winner and so
on.
15. In case of a tie, a clincher round shall be played. It shall be a knockout system between
or among the contestants with equal scores until a winner emerges. The first one who can
answer correctly will be the winner.
16. The duly registered coach of the contestant is the only person authorized to file protest.
All protests should be referred to the Board of Judges before the quizmaster reads the next
question. No protest shall be entertained by the Board of Judges when the quizmaster
started reading the next question.
17. Any violation of the aforementioned rules shall cause the disqualification of the
contestant concerned.
B. E- Poster Making Contest
1. The contest is open to all students.
2. The poster should revolve around this year’s event theme.
3. The medium for visual artistry shall be electronic or computer generated and shall be
saved in a CD.
4. The poster shall be printed in an A4 bond paper with one inch margin on each side and
in poster layout.
5. Each poster shall be identified by a number that corresponds to the number and identity
of the entry for the judging process.
6. The CD and print out of poster shall be submitted to the facilitator upon registration.
7. Judging shall be based on the following criteria;
Originality of idea - 40 %
Relevance to the theme - 40 %
Overall Impact - 20%
Total - 100%
C. E- slogan Making Contest
1. The contest is open to all students.
2. The slogan should revolve around this year’s event theme.
3. The slogan shall be in Filipino (national language) which must be catchy, specific and
clear.
4. The slogan shall consist of five (5) to ten (10) words only. A compound word will be
considered as one word, e.g. kapit-kamay.
5. The slogan shall be computerized saved in a CD and printed in a long bond paper in a
landscape layout.
6. The CD and print out of slogan shall be submitted to the facilitator upon registration.
7. Each slogan shall be identified by a number that corresponds to the number and identity
of the entry for the judging process.
8. Judging shall be based on the following criteria:
Originality of idea - 40 %
Relevance to the theme - 40 %
Overall Impact - 20%
Total - 100%
D. Smart Talking
1. The contest is open to all students.
2. The medium of questioning and answering shall be English language.
3. There shall be one (1) common question for all the contestants which shall be answered
orally. The question shall come from the Board of Judges.
4. Each contestant shall have two (2) minutes conceptualization and three (3) minutes
delivery.
5. Only the speaker is on the contest room while the other contestants shall stay in a room
where they can’t hear the question and the answer.
6. Each smart talker shall be identified by a number that corresponds to the number and
identity of the contestant for the judging process.
7. Judging shall be based on the following criteria:
Wit and intelligence - 35%
Organization/ Relevance of the
ideas on the topic - 30%
Articulation/ Diction -25%
Stage Presence - 10%
Total - 100%
8. The top five (5) contestants shall be declared winners.
E. Slogan Making
1. The contest is open to all students.
2. The slogan should revolve around this year’s event theme.
3. The slogan shall be in Filipino (national language) which must be catchy, specific and

F. Poster Making
1. The contest is open to all students.
2. The poster should revolve around this year’s event theme.
3. The medium for visual artistry shall be one half (½) illustration board, oil pastel
4. Each poster shall be identified by a number that corresponds to the number and identity
of the entry for the judging process.
5. Judging shall be based on the following criteria;
Originality of idea - 40 %
Relevance to the theme - 40 %
Overall Impact - 20%
Total - 100%
G. Collage Making ( Group Category)
1. Each group shall consist of 3 members.
2. Contestants should use indigenous and recyclable materials that are limited to 4-6 kinds
of materials.
3. It should be mounted to 20x30 (one whole illustration board) ordinary illustration
board.
4. Each group will be given 1 ½ hour to finish their work
5. Judging shall be based on the following criteria;
Originality of idea - 40 %
Relevance to the theme - 40 %
Overall Impact - 20%
Total - 100%
H. Essay Writing
1. The contest is open to all students.
2. The essay should revolve around Science Month theme, which will be announced by the
contest administrator during the contest proper.
3. All essays must be done on the spot. Essays must be in English. The minimum number of
page is one (1) and the maximum number of page is two (2) pages.
4. The competition starts as soon as the specific topic is given. Each participant will be given
one and a half (1 1/2) hours to finish the essay. The participants must be informed thirty
(30) minutes prior to the end of the competition to wrap up their essay.
5. Judging shall be based on the following criteria:
Originality and Communication 40%
Content 40%
Writing Mechanics 20%
TOTAL 100%
6. The top five (5) contestants shall be declared winners.
I. Photo – Treebute (Individual Category)
1. The contest is open to all students.
2. Only registered cameras are allowed to be used during the contest
3. The contestants must submit the soft copy direct from their cameras. The photos must
comply with the following:
a. The photos must focus on trees.
b. The photos must be taken inside the school; the teacher in charge shall
identify the place for the photo session.
c. The photos should be taken on the day of the contest.
d. The camera must activate the date and time setting to appear on the photo.
e. The photos must not have undergone digital editing and
enhancement.
4. The contestants shall be given one (1) hour to take as many pictures as possible in the
venue determined by the teacher in charge. After the allotted time however, the
contestants must choose only one photo for printing. The contestants shall provide a title of
the photo which should capture the message of the subject and paste it in an 8.5 by 13
bond paper.
5. Judging shall be based on the following criteria:
Originality 40%
Message 30%
Impact 20%
Technical Compliance 10%
TOTAL 100%
6. The top five (5) highest scoring contestants shall declared as winners.
J. LAKAN AT LAKAMBINI NG KALIKASAN
1. Lakan at Lakambini ng Kalikasan is a pageant competition open to all students.
2. The pageant shall consists of two (2) portions, namely
a. Kalikasan attire competition (creative costume)- The candidates shall wear creative
costume (formal attire) using strictly INDIGENOUS MATERIALS OR RECYCLABLE MATERIALS
ONLY . The criteria for judging the Kalikasan attire are as follows:

a.2 Shorts Wear Competition 20%
a.3 Casual Wear Competition 25%
a.4 Money 25%
A.1 KALIKASAN ATTIRE COMPETITION (CREATIVE COSTUME)- The candidates shall wear
creative costume (formal attire)using strictly INDIGENOUS MATERIALS OR RECYCLABLE
MATERIALS ONLY . The criteria for judging the Kalikasan Attire are as follows:
Creativity (Harmony and Organization) 40%
Concept (Relevance to the focus- Science) 30%
Bearing (grace, poise and deportment) 30%

A.2. SHORTS WEAR COMPETITION
Suitability 30%
Figure 30%
Poise, grace, deportment 40%

A.3. CASUAL WEAR COMPETITION

B. Only the top five (5) pairs shall have the chance to proceed to the next round of the
competition, which will be the Final Question and Answer Portion which is in a form of
Picture Analysis. In this round the accumulated scores of each candidate will go back to
zero. (The contestant with the highest number of sold raffle tickets shall be included
automatically to top five.) The criteria for judging the Top Five (5) pairs are as follows

3. Minor awards to be given are as follows:
Best in Casual Wear
Best in Shorts Wear
Best in Kalikasan Attire

4. Five major awards to be given are as follows:
