Assignment Title: Q3 Macbeth’s downfall reflection

Student Writing Goal: My writing goal for this essay was to get a 90% and get a 4 in my “statement of purpose or
focus” and “language and vocabulary”, also get a 4 in organization

Instructions:
1) Re-read the paper (and teacher feedback).
2) Complete this reflection sheet.

What was the purpose of this writing assignment?


The purpose of this writing assignment was to state who we thought was responsible for Macbeth’s downfall
and provide evidence from the play to support our argument, and how the person/people we chose affected
him in a negative way.

How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
In my opinion I think I did horrible in this writing assignment, I focused on the purpose well but not enough
and my writing sounded off topic. My vocabulary was also poor and weak, I used the same weak words. I
could have also elaborated more on my evidence as well.

What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
What I did best in the essay was my organization. The way I transitioned to my second body paragraph was
really well in my opinion and the essay was in order, it aligned with my thesis statement.

Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?


I chose to revise my essay because I had a feeling it wasn’t a great essay. I don’t think I took time to actually
think about what I wanted to write I was rushing to get it done, and I need to improve in certain things on my
essay because I keep making the same mistakes with punctuation and contractions.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
On my next writing assignment Ill check for contraction words before submitting and also have someone else
read it for me before submitting it.

To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?
I succeeded with my organization and since I didn’t achieve my other goals it motivates me to do bettwewr
on my other essays.
