Thesis Experiment Request for ChE Lab

1. A group of 4th year Chemical Engineering students at Batangas State University are requesting permission to use the Chemical Engineering Laboratory and its equipment to conduct an experiment for their thesis on extracting brown seaweeds to synthesize magnetic iron nanoparticles for oil removal. 2. They plan to use the UV-Vis equipment in the laboratory from 6PM to 6AM on March 29, 2019. 3. Their thesis adviser, laboratory supervisor, and laboratory technician have noted and approved their request, pending final approval from the Department Chair and Dean of the College of Engineering, Architecture, Fine Arts.

Greetings of Peace!

We, 4th year Chemical Engineering students of Batangas State University, are currently conducting
our thesis entitiled “Microwave-Assisted Extraction of Brown Seaweeds (Sargassum Polycystum) for the
Synthesis of Magnetic Iron Nanopaticle for Oil Removal”. This study aims to synthesize magnetic iron
nanopaticle from brown seaweeds extract that will be used for oil removal.

In this regard, we would like to request your good office to allow us to conduct the experiment
and make use of the materials and equipment in the Chemical Engineering Laboratory with our thesis
adviser on March 29, 2019, 6PM-6AM.

We will be using the following equipment in the conduct of the equipment.

1. UV-Vis

Attached is the procedure of the experiment for the said date. Thank you and God bless

Respectfully yours,
