I. Learning Objectives

At the end of the class, the students are should be able to:

a. identify the eight planets in the solar system;

b. explain the importance of our planet Earth; and

c. arrange the planets according to their distance to the sun. .

F. Lesson Development
1. Activity Number 1
Class lets have an activity. I’m going to
divide you into two groups by counting off
1 and 2. Both groups are given strips of
papers and a cartolina. You have to
assemble the picture puzzles and paste it in
the cartolina in 3 minutes. The group with
most puzzles solved will receive additional
points.
Understand? (student answers)
Very good! Let’s start!

2. Activity Number 2
Next activity, please stay with your
assigned groups, is we’re going to play
match me. There are two cartolinas placed
in the board and all the members of the
group should form a line quietly and draw
a line matching the questions with the
right answers. The first group to finish the
task correctly and organized will be given
extra points. Understand? Yes ma’am
Good, let’s start!

G. Application
For another group activity, the same group
is both given materials needed. Each group
will make arrange the planets according to
their distance to the sun and paste it on the
cartolina. Do your assigned task for 3
minutes only. Understand? Yes, Ma’am!
Very good! Let’s start. (student follows)

H. Generalization
So class, can you now differentiate each of
the planets in the solar system?
How many planets do we have again?
Which one is closest to the Sun?
Which one is farthest to the Sun?
