Biofloc in Aquaculture
High porosity aggregate in water body; made of
microorganism, particle, colloid, and organic matter
Biotic component (interaction of Abiotic
microorganism) component
Plankton, Particle,
Microalgae Bacteria colloid, organic
protozoa matter

Biofloc Production
terbatas.

A low or zero water exchange production “tool” used
primarily in intensive shrimp / fish production
Utilizing pond microbial community to improve water
quality and maximize feed recycling
Promotion of stable, heterotrophic bacteria dominated
pond environment instead of phytoplankton
dominated that is light sensitive and highly unstable
Bacteria thrive and “floc” and flocs assimilate waste
nutrients
In short – your pond becomes your biofilter!
