El lugar de descanso y trabajo, y escenario de representacién de la vida cotidiana. El recinto donde mejor se revela la esencia de cada biografla, Lugar de encuentro y desencuentros, y donde pasamos la mayor parte del tiempo. La arquitectura contempordnea se ha dado cuenta de esta situaciénla falta de espacios multifuncionales y polivalentes 0, por el contrario,recintos muy delimitados que sean agradables y sosegados en los que sus habitantes se puedan sentir cémodos. Sin olvidar las aparencias externas innovadoras, en la mayoria de los proyectos de nueva construccién, el interiorismo es hoy una de las disiplinas de la arquitectura en la que se pueden apreciar més innovaciones y donde el juego interior-exterior accesos e integracién con el medio ‘Gircundante proporcionan mayores novedades. Lejos de resolver el problema de fondo de las urbes del siglo XI, el interiorismo actual no cesa en su ambicién por crear viviendas adecuadas a necesidades que hasta hace poco parecian de dif solucién. La combinacién de ‘materiales como la madera,el cristal 0 el acero; asf coro la descarada intencién de conseguir espacios abiertos ‘con apenas divsiones, en los que la luz se transforme en un elemento bésico e imprescindible son dos de los grandes pilares sobre los que se sustentan las nuevas tendencias de la anquitectura de interiores.
