PROPOSED 2018 CURRICULUM
RATIONALE

The Office Management Technology provides students with diverse, knowledge of business
policies and procedures that they need toward their success in the global marketplace. The program
enables students to enter the job market in a number of entry-level positions. Courses cover
concepts in basic accounting, computer systems, supervisory management and marketing skills.

Today’s business need highly skilled employees who can organize, manage, and distribute
information in the fast-paced business world. This program helps students gain special skills needed
for the challenges they will pace. This three-year ladderized program the student is readily employed
in various settings as legal, technical or medical. The students may qualify for TESDA National
Certification such as:

 Bookkeeping NC III
 Events Management NC III
 Medical Transcription NC II
 PC Operations NC II
 Front office services NC II

I. VISION OF THE UNIVERSITY

II. MISSION OF THE UNIVERSITY

Reflective of the great emphasis being given by the country's leadership aimed at providing
appropriate attention to the alleviation of the plight of the poor, the development of the
citizens, and of the national economy to become globally competitive, the University shall
commit its academic resources and manpower to achieve its goals through:

a. Provision of undergraduate and graduate education which meet international standards


of quality and excellence;
b. Generation and transmission of knowledge in the broad range of disciplines relevant and
responsive to the dynamically changing domestic and international environment;
c. Provision of more equitable access to higher education opportunities to deserving and
qualified Filipinos; and
d. Optimization, through efficiency and effectiveness, of social, institutional, and individual
returns and benefits derived from the utilization of higher education resources.

 To offer career – focused programs of study with a well – chosen general education
component to enable students to cope with global standards for a meaningful and
fruitful life.
 To inculcate in the students good moral values and work ethics.

instructional materials that conform to national and global standards.

OMT OBJECTIVES:
ICT Community is committed to attain these objectives:

1. To strengthen the DOMT program to make it consistent with global trends.


2. To develop OMT faculty as competent mentors and quality researchers through advanced
studies and other phases of continuing professional education.
3. To create conducive teaching and learning atmosphere with emphasis to OMT faculty and
DOMT students’ growth and academic freedom.
4. To conduct continuously action researches on the Needs of laboratory and other facilities
that could be locally produced or innovated using local Materials and adapted technology.

IV. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION


The Diploma in Office Management Technology is a three-year ladderized program that
provides rigid training in general office management and one of two specialization options: (1)
medical office management and (2) legal office management.

V. OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM


The program prepares students for a career in office management, particularly in a medical
or legal office, in the shortest possible time.

VII. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

7. Chest X-ray for Health Clearance from PUP Medical Clinic
8. Certification of Good Moral Character
9. NSO-authenticated Birth Certificate

VIII. RETENTION REQUIREMENTS


1. No failing grade.

2. To qualify for a certificate, a student has to finish the one-year certificate requirements
including the 300-hour Practicum 1 and the passing of the final practical and written
examinations.

3. To qualify for an associate degree, a student has to finish the two-year associate
requirements including the 300-hour Practicum 2nd the passing of the final practical and
written examinations.

4. To qualify for the diploma course, a student has to finish the three-year program
requirements including the 600-hour Internship and the passing of the final practical and
written examinations.

IX. GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS


1. A candidate for graduation shall his/her application for graduation with the University
Registrar’s Office at the start of his/her last semester.
2. A student shall be recommended for graduation when he/she has satisfied all academic
and other requirements prescribed by the University.
3. No students shall be allowed to graduate from the university unless he/she has earned
therein more than seventy-five (75) percent of the academic units required in the
curriculum.
4. A candidate for graduation shall have his/her deficiencies made up and his/her records
cleared not later than two weeks before his/her last semester.
5. Passing all the subjects in the curriculum, all the prescribed Practicums & Internship and
all the final practical and written examinations.
