Specialized Training Workshop in ICT Season 3


Narrative Report

Information and Communication Technology or (ICT) has been part of the teaching learning
process especially now that we are in the 21st century. Teachers make use of computer-assisted
instruction.

The Division Specialized Training Workshop in ICT Season 3 was held last May 20-24, 2019 at
Galvan National High School, Guimba, Nueva Ecija. It was a 5-day seminar focused on video and photo
editing with 120 participants from CD I-IV of Divisions of Nueva Ecija. The school conducted a brief
program to welcome the participants which led by the members of faculty. The program was started
with an invocation led by Ma’am Anicia S. Velasco, followed by the singing of the National Anthem led
by Ma’am Kassandra Marey S. Dizon. To ensure that most of the participants from different
congressional districts attended, Ma’am Grace A. Parairo, HT-III of T.L.E., performed the roll call of
participants, and that most of number came from CD-I. Afterwards, Ma’am Catherine C. Pangilinan
informed the participants regarding the House Rules, followed by an inspirational message from the
School Head, Sir Dennis L. Serapio.

The Principal introduced the trainors, Sir Robert Miguel Domingo ( Licab District), Sir Geneso
Ruiz ( San Ricardo National High School),Sir Eudolfo Flores ( Talugtug National High School) Sir Baltazar
Dela Cruz ( Bicos National High School), Sir Julius Maderia( Santa Rosa National High School), and Sir
Winifredo Garcia( Cabucbucan National High School). Indeed, it was a successful program.

Day 1

The respective trainers divided the participants into two groups- video editing and photo editing
group. Though divides, both groups will still be introduced with both skills but not simultaneously. The
first group will be having photo editing while the second group will be taught about video editing in a
certain period of time, after which, they’ll switch on the next day.

A warm welcome was being observed on the first day of training workshops, Speakers introduce
themselves and empower the target skill for the said training.Video Editing group tackled the techniques
and elements of film, and Photo Editing group discussed Photo Editing vs Photo Manipulation and
Introduction in Adobe Photoshop.

Day 2

While Galvan National High School is still conducting its Brigada Eskwela, the specialized training
program smashed at around 8:30 to 9:00 am. The trainers in Batch 1 introduced skillful video editing
techniques, like making them used the Vegas Pro Software for customizable workflow for professional
video editing. The participants learned to add text to their video, as well as adding filters, audio, effects,
and among others. As observed, the trainers showed and demonstrated the informations about video
editing skillfully and effectively. The participants showed enthusiasm in learning the skills by making an
effort in shooting videos that they can enhance and present in the last day of the said training.

Simultaneously, the Batch 2 or Photo Editing group started their training in Tarpaulin Designing, Movie
Poster, and Comical Poster. The participants had a deeper knowledge on how to professionally create a
tarpaulin, movie and comical poster, which can be very useful for personal and economical purposes.
Nowadays, tarpaulin designing is one of the most demanded tool for promotions. So, teachers can also
use this knowledge not only in the four-corners of the room, but also in profit-gaining.

Day 3

Speakers and Participants arrive on time. They started their lectures with a short prayer and
review about the past discussion.
An Intensive discussion about Photo editing vs. Photo Manipulation was held. Participation was
very evident during the discussion. In the midst of serious talks, Jollibee mascot entered the room to
entertain the participants. He danced and gave a brilliant smile to all- that somehow relieved their stress
and tiredness in editing videos and photos. The said Mascot was part of the Brigada Eskwela Activity of
the School- Galvan National High School. Jollibee Guimba donated cleaning materials and paints to be
used in repairing and repainting of the school facilities.

The session was ended exactly 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon.

Day 4

The sun has rise, and most of the participants and speakers were inside the learning domicile.
Checking of attendance was performed, before the discussion proper.

This day is a productive to all the participants, because they will now apply the skills learned in
Photo and Video Editing. The Photo Editing group was task to make a certificate and poster, on the other
group was busy on taking and editing videos. Participants tested their artistry, and skill in Editing and
shooting.

Most of the participants did not finish yet their output, So, Speakers gave enough time to finish
and be ready for tomorrow’s presentation.

Day 5

Presentation of Output

The participants of ST-WICT presented their outputs in Video and Photo Editing conducted in
school’s computer laboratory. OIC-Education Program Supervisor in ICT, Sir Laberne A. Ladignon, who
was an earlybird, led the said presentations. The participants wear white polo shirts for their graduation
ceremony. It was spearheaded in school’s gymnasium and began at 11 o’clock in the morning. The
ceremony was hosted by Galvan’s member of the faculty, Mr. Jomel G. Vadez and Ms. Roselyn V. Gabat.
The ceremony was started with an invocation led by Mrs. Anicia S. Velasco, followed by an opening
remarks by Mrs. Grace A. Parairo, HT-III T.L.E. The training wouldn’t be completed without an
inspirational message from our hard-working, Sir Laberne A. Ladignon. The said program was ended by
a closing remarks from Mrs. Leilani Ermitanio.
