Bismillahirahmannirahim, Assalamualaikum wtb.

Your excellences the committee, the honourable judges, dear friends who participate
and my loving brothers and sisters.
My dear brothers and sisters, before I begin, I praise the Almighty Allah, who created
the heavens and earth. Peace and salutation be upon our Prophet Muhammad ‫ﷺ‬
who has told us the cardinal principle of the unity of Allah.

Ladies and gentlemen,

I am very pleasure to stand here in front of honourable audience in this precious time
to deliver my speech entitled “Muhammad PBUH (Peace be upon him): The Person
Who Influenced My Life”. The Holy Prophet’s Muhammad PBUH, his name is higher
than the skies, more pure than the purest of white. A perfect human being ever sent
to the mankind by Allah. He exhibited perfectness in all aspects of the life. He
displayed the true spirit of life and taught us how to live and let others live. He was
the central human figure of Islam, regarded by Muslims as a prophet of Allah and the
last messenger. Regarding to Diwan Chand Sharma said in his book the Prophets of
the East;
“Muhammad was the soul of kindness, and his influence was felt and never forgotten
by those around him”.

Allah presents His messenger’s life as an absolute model for the Muslim to follow
until the day of judgement. As a Muslim, we should take the Holy Prophet’s life as a
model for us in every affair of life.
According to surah Al-Ahzab verse 23:

Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad) you have a good example to follow

for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah

much.
Ladies and gentlemen,

Truthfulness is the greatest and most important of all human virtues. A truthful man

will never tell a lie. He always says what he means. He acts as he says. He does not

tell lies even in jest. The exact characteristics that allowed the Prophet to do this are

innumerable. Nonetheless, chief among his traits was his honesty. The range of

names attributed to him includes Al-Sadiq (the Truthful) and Al-Amin (the Faithful).

Even his enemies, who were diametrically opposed to everything he preached, still

referred to him by these names. Undoubtedly, no one can be more truthful and

honest than the Messengers of Allah. Muhammad saw proved by his living example

that he was the most truthful and honest person of his age. Everyone was impressed

by his honesty and truthfulness. He was a poor orphan, who had started trading with

his uncle, but in a very short time, owing to his honest and fair dealings with all

people, he became well-known and respected.

Allah, the exalted says;

"We know indeed that what they say certainly grieves you, but surely they do not call

you a liar; but the unjust deny the verses of God." Surah Al An’am verses 33.

Ladies and gentlemen,

The Prophet Muhammad saw showed good manners and was courteous to all,

even to children. Once when the Prophet was in a gathering, a drink was brought to
the Prophet and he drank from it. On his right side there was a young boy and on his

left side were elderly men. Feeling obliged by the respect of elders, and not wanting

to hurt the feelings of the child he ask for permission from the young boy.

It has become clear that the manifestations of the basic acts of worship in

Islam have educational part and ethical dimension. And this reveals the importance

of ethics in Islam, and not only that, but good manner is a part of the faith itself; if you

are perfect in morality, you are perfect in the faith but if you are imperfect in ethics

you are imperfect in your faith.

The Messenger of Allah (Peace Be Upon Him) says:

‫أكمل الناس إيمانا أحسنهم أخالقا‬

“The believers most perfect in faith are those best in character.” (Tirmizi).

A Muslim as a mirror of good manners. When a person decorates himself with the

manners and morals of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and follows

the footsteps of the esteemed companions is also a true worshipper of Allah the

Almighty and a perfect devotee of Him.

Ladies and gentlemen,

The Holy Prophet’s Muhammad saw was a shining example to his people. His

character was pure and stainless with the kindness and merciful. So unpretentious

was he that he would receive from his companions no special mark of reverence, nor

would he accepts any service from his slave which he could do for himself. He was

acceptable to all and at all times. He visited the sick and was full of sympathy for all.
Unlimited was his benevolence and generosity as also was his anxious care for the

welfare of the community. It is the magnanimous nature of this beautiful personality.

All historians put Muhammad as the most influential human that ever walked on the

planet of Earth. None can be best other than Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) he is the

only person who changed the life of hundreds of millions by showing them the right

path. He changed the people not by force but by his etiquette and morals. Whole of

his life he spend on people to make them understand that Allah is the creator and

Allah is the only God. All of us should know him and live by his example.

Allah said in surah At-Taubah verse 12;

There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Grievous to

him is what you suffer, for he is concerned over you and to the believers he is kind

and merciful.

Ladies and gentlemen,

The Prophet’s (pbuh) goodwill did not simply extend towards women or fellow

Muslims. It was inclusive towards people of other religions as well, including the

Jews and Christians of the time. An example of this lies in his treatment of prisoners

of war during the battle of Badr. Muhammad SAW is complete human being shown

his life to the world to live with peace and dignity.

There is Surah Al-Qalam verse 4:

“And you are upon a mighty morality”.

The Prophet (PBUH) transcended all of these perceived differences through his

character. From the beginning to the end his honesty, his treatment of women and

minorities, and his behaviour towards non-Muslims set the standard that would

inspire all of his followers. This is why the author Michael H. Hart recognized the

Prophet (PBUH) as number one in a ranking of the 100 most influential persons in

history.

The situation in today’s world is at once startling and discomforting because of

the minimal value placed on human life. At both the individual and nation levels, one

group may treat another group as disposable simply because their way of thinking is

different. As global citizens in the 21st century, it is important to see beyond

differences and realize that the human denominator among us is what is most

important. We must all seek examples like the Prophet’s (BUH) and work to

incorporate them into our lives, in order to increase tranquillity and make the world a

more peaceful place for future generations.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Before ending this speech, let me conclude the essential point of my speech. Muslim

should develop awareness of Allah’s presence in every situation. Prophet

Muhammad PBUH came as a Messenger of Allah to the entire mankind, and his
behaviour provides a model for us to emulate. First, we realising the Prophet PBUH

practice of truthfulness was observed and reported so that Muslims would follow his

example. Second, we study the good manner of the Prophet and learn about his

treatment of people around him. That is very important because it will be an example

for us to follow. Thirdly, kindness and merciful is an attribute of Allah, which is no

limits. It is extensive and encompasses all things and all beings without

discrimination. Likewise was the kindness and merciful of the Prophet. He

extended it to all beings, both animate and inanimate and benefited all without

measure. Fourthly, the Prophet Muhammad was shown to us of practising goodwill

in life would develop peaceful and dignity around the world.

Lastly, Muhammad PBUH was nothing more or less than human being. But he was a

man with noble mission, who was to unite humanity and the worship of one and only

one God and to teach them the way to be honest and upright living based on the

commands of Allah. Today, after a lapse of twenty one centuries, the life and

teaching of Muhammad PBUH have survived without the slightest loss, alteration or

interpolation.

The right one is merely from Allah. All praise is for Allah, the Lord of the universe.

Thank you very much.
