1830VWM R8.0.00 is the first release where the 1830VWM OSU, PMU, and TLU are
introduced.
As such, the 1830VWM R8.0.00 software comes pre-installed on each unit directly from

3KC-42995-AAAA Release 8.0.0 Use pursuant to applicable agreements
Issue 1 December 2015
Restrictions Restrictions

Restrictions
Restrictions for Release 8.0.00:

Item Restriction

1 Restriction: The unit “status” LED does not support the “GREEN
FLASHING” state to show that a boot/load is in progress.
The alarm and condition “UNITINIT” will be present when a unit is
booting/loading.
The unit has completed its software upgrade or boot up sequence when
the condition and the alarm “UNITINIT” is no longer present.
Additionaly, the “status” LED will turn on when the upgrade or boot up
sequence has completed.
2 Restriction: IPv6 and DHCPv6 are not supported in this software release.
3 Restriction: 1830VWM TLU PCS (Physical Coding Sublayer) counters
are not currently supported. Retrieving these performance counters in
15min and 24hour bins will always return 0 (zero).
4 Restriction: The 1830VWM TLU software does not support loopbacks
and pseudo-random binary sequence (PRBS).
5 Restriction: The OSU can support a maximum of 24 managed units
(total of TLUs & PMUs).
6 Restriction: Fiber monitoring (RFLM) over passive VWM/SAR-O is not
supported in this SW release.
7 Restriction: Configuration from units in “standalone” mode cannot be
copied to the OSU. When a remote unit (TLU, PMU) is changed to
"standalone" mode, any local configuration performed on the unit will be
lost/removed when moving back to "managed" mode (the OSU
configuration is always the "master").
8 Restriction: A maximum of one(1) SNMP server can be configured to
receive traps from the OSU.
9 Restriction: The 1830VWM OSU does not support redundant
(master/slave) operation.

Known issues for Release 8.0.00:

Iem Reference Description & Workaround

1 AH-145 Problem: Exceptionally, the RRH CPRI link may not recover
AH-146 following a TLU power cycle.
Workaround: Manually restart the RRH to recover the CPRI link
2 AH-356 Problem: The ALU SFP EEPROM “vendor” fields are displayed in
hex format.
Workaround: The following mapping can be used to determine the
ALU part number installed in the TLU client port:
“1AB187280065” contains 0x…314142313837323830303635…
“1AB429380001” contains 0x…314142343239333830303031…
“1AB376370001” contains 0x…314142333736333730303031…
3 AH-367 Problem: The TLU cannot read receive power levels in "externally
calibrated" client SFPs (1AB187280065 & 1AB376370001)
Workaround: Use "internally calibrated" SFPs (1AB429380001) in
TLU clients ports and add attenuators to ensure receive power is
within acceptable range.
