CAREER FESTIVAL 2018


Narrative Report
November 9, 2018

Career coaching is a useful tool in choosing a career. Career Coaching is a process which occurs
over time, which can help a student feel confident as they explore their options and made the most
appropriate choice. The process of Career Coaching is an active one, which can help the students to
choose the major from the wide range of existing possibilities.
In line with this, finally, the most awaited event of the Grade 10 Guidance Department and Grade 10
Curricular SSG has come. The Career Festival 2018 with the theme “Career Coaching: Embarking on a
Journey of Self-Awareness” that aims for the students find the major which is consistent with one’s
values, interests, skills, and abilities, through individualized interpretation of career interest inventories.
The said event is divided into three parts. The first part is the Arrival and Registrations of the
Participants from 7:00-8:00 a.m. The registration area is in front of Alcala Building and was handled by
the Registration team which includes Grade 10 Curricular SSG Officers and Usherettes from the female
candidates of Ms. QNHS 2019. The other SSG officers was also there to make things easier.
After the Registration of the participants, They immediately proceed to the second part which is the
the Program Proper at 8:30 a.m. in the Gymnasium Hall. The program begins as the masters of the
ceremony and the joyful sound from the QNHS Band welcome the students and participants in this
year’s Career Festival. The program officially start with the National Anthem and a doxology led by our
dear students from SPED. Next was a graced and warming opening remarks from our Grade 10
Consultant from English Department,Mr. Abner L. Pureza and then a heartwarming message from the
OIC of Social Studies Club, Mrs. Helen I. Cuevas. Also, to add more inspiring thoughts, The PTA
President, Mr. Arnel Magbanlac conquer the stage.
Afterwards, the adviser of Grade 10 Curricular SSG, Mr. Sammy F.Baysa came onstage to formally
present the Participating schools. The schools includes………………. Where each school is given 10-15
minutes to present and to endorse their offers for the students and to help them choose the best school,
track and strands that fits their personalities. All schools offers the best, all school introduce personality
in their curriculums. But still, the student’s interests, strengths and personality play a big part in
determining which careers will provide them with the most personal satisfaction.
The presentation of school ended up at 12:00 in the afternoon that gave every students a hard time
deciding what track,strand and school the will choose.
Now that the first and second part is done, We moved on to the last part where students will
personally meet/visit the schools. Students went to different rooms where each room, there is an
assigned school.And to prove that students personally meet the schools, there is an index card bought
from the Index Card booth of Grade 10 Curricular SSG where participating schools will have to sign.
This process continuously flow until 4;00 p.m
And finally at 4:30 p.m. The Career Festival is done! And the Grade 10 Guidance Department together
with the Grae 10 Curricular SSG had an another successful event this year.
