UCU Lighting Audit and Recommendations

This document summarizes a lighting audit conducted of the Urdaneta City University Motorpool and Gymnasium. It analyzes the existing lighting systems and illuminance levels in various areas. It then proposes new LED lighting systems to reduce energy consumption and costs. For the Motorpool, the proposed LED system would use 54 fixtures on the ground floor and 18 on the second floor, reducing total monthly electricity costs from Php 1,824 to Php 2,076. For the Gymnasium, LED pin lights are proposed for the entrance, control room and back stage, which would be more energy efficient than the existing metal halide and CFL lamps. The conclusion recommends lighting upgrades to save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION:
Lighting is a large and rapidly growing source of energy demand and greenhouse
gas emissions. At the same time the savings potential of lighting energy is high even
with the current technology, and there are new energy efficient lighting technologies
coming on the market. One of our needs in our community and environment is having a
light and more important in evening time when it comes to our safety. Without light, we
did not know what to do. We did not see what a beautiful place of our environment or
around us. In this activity with the use of lux meter conduct lighting audit to measure
the illuminance of the light in every room and we started to re-design for the lightings
and add more and exact lamp to light the room.
