THE COUNSELLING PROCEDURE FOR ALLOCATION OF SEAT / CAMPUS


1. The counselling for admission/allocation of campus to the short-listed candidates is based on their performance in their 12th Board/ Equivalent examination.
2. No change of date / time of counselling is permissible. If a candidate fails to appear for counselling on the date and time specified. His / Her seat will be
offered to the next candidate in the order of merit.
3. The counselling will be held at simultaneously at VIT University, Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal and VIT-AP. Candidate can attend the counselling in any one of
the campus.
4. Candidate's presence at the time of counselling is mandatory.However, if a candidate is unable to attend counselling on the specified time due to unforeseen
reasons, he / she can attend on a subsequent slots, after duly intimating the office. The candidate can only opt for the branch available at that time and cannot
claim any other branch as per his / her counselling order.
5. Under genuine reason, if a candidate is not able to attend the counselling, he/she can authorize either his/her father or mother to attend the counselling on
his/her behalf with proper proof (viz., counselling call letter, authorization letter, Proof of absence in addition to the other documents).
6. The fact that candidate has applied to VIT and has been called for counselling does not guarantee admission to him / her. The allotment is based on their
performance in their qualifying examinations and on the availability of a branch and campus of their choice, when their turn comes.
7. The Registration will begin as per the reporting time and close after 30 mins.
8. Candidates appearing after the reporting time will be allowed to register in the next slot only. He/she has to chose the choice of campus available at their
turn.
9. The Counselling process may extend upto late evening, students / parents are requested to plan their travel accordingly.
10. Parent may accompany their ward at the time of counselling.
11. Verification of documents pertaining to age, mark sheet of the qualifying examination, community, nativity (if applicable) and other eligibility criteria will
be first done before the candidate is allowed to participate in the counselling.
12. A candidate should decide for certain, on whether he / she should join the programme based on the branch and campus allotted to him / her at the time of
counselling, before the payment of the fee.
13. Allotment of branch and campus once made is final and cannot be changed under any circumstances.
