Overview
Invest in your future.
Focus on knowledge
and education.

One key to success is the appropriate education of your staff.

The YASKAWA Academy offers you a broad range of courses
tailored to the level of knowledge of the participants –
from entry-level to expert.

Our customers are the experts when it comes

to solving concrete problems practically.
Our products are tools that enable our customers
to effectively realize the developed solutions.

However, to get the most from the products, it is

necessary to obtain accurate knowledge about the
functionality of the components and – what gains
more and more in importance – to recognise the
interaction of the products in the group system
and to exploit opportunities.

Exactly that is the task of our YASKAWA Academy,

namely imparting this knowledge to our customers.
Our team is in the position to provide broad and
detailed expert knowledge about our products –
but also to discuss solutions in dialogue with our
customers: from the product to the solution!
Control technology, drive technology and robotics
grow together more and more in concrete
applications. It is therefore only logical that the
YASKAWA Academy now offers an integrated
training approach, which embraces all YASKAWA
product lines. –
For the benefit of our customers!

MOTIVATION
General Manager, Total Customer Support
Robotics Division, Yaskawa Europe GmbH

Come and benefit from our advanced training concept. Starting right away, we offer training in all
product areas of the YASKAWA group. These include training in the fields of robotics, drive and
control technology. This offer of diversified and wide-range training stems from a single source.

Our course programme is modular and offers the right training module for nearly all applications
and every level of knowledge.

Many participants praise our balanced approach, in which the practical application is being moved
in the foreground next to the theoretical parts of the course. In this manner, we guarantee efficient
and practice-oriented learning and ensure that the acquired knowledge can be applied directly on
returning to the company.

Our team of trainers is always on the knowledge forefront concerning automation technology due to
ongoing advanced training. The trainers at the YASKAWA Academy gladly create a training concept
based on your request with your individual and customized expectations.

Motivate your employees, increase user safety and reduce downtime through targeted advanced
training at the YASKAWA Academy.

With our training programme we want to:

n Impart them with knowledge to enable proper action
n Give you security and confidence in your facility
n Provide you and your employees with further qualifications through training for facility availability
To secure your robotic systems at a high level
n To support you at an early stage so that problems find no foothold
n Assist you with your processes and thus help to optimize and secure
the productivity of your facility
n With increasing yield from your facility
n To guarantee your success. Because YOUR SUCCESS is our MOTIVATION!

“Total Customer
Support” is a mindset
matter.
In addition to Consultation, Installation, Programming, Process Support, Telephone
Support, Spare Parts, Maintenance, Repair and Complete Overhaul Services,
an important component of our capabilities is Training and Education.

Here detailed knowledge as well as “the big picture” are just as important as the
“tips and tricks” used in application-related programming.

This principle is the goal of our training concept. Our recipe for success in training
is the proper mix of well-explained theory and numerous practical exercises. In our
training centers in Eschborn, Herzogenaurach and Allershausen, we use detailed
training documentation as well as modern training means and methods.

We offer you a diverse and comprehensive training course programme, which can “enable”
and will qualify your staff – from entry-level to experts – for a variety of applications.
You will be able to take full advantage of your YASKAWA MOTOMAN robots.

Over two-thirds of the course time is used for practical exercises. Thus, your employees
will gather all-round experience in the operation, programming and/or maintenance
of robots and their respective application programs.

For our international clients we can – upon request – coordinate training tailored to
individual needs.

Certification programme Robotics
The use of the YASKAWA industrial robot is progressing quite well in all industrial branches and applications.
Accordingly, the technology has evolved in its variety of possibilities and options. The YASKAWA certification
programme stays abreast of this development, by qualifying programmers and maintenance staff and to build up
the necessary expertise.

By qualifying your employees, you are able to independently implement problem solutions professionally and expertly.

Upon successful completion of the appropriate training for BACHELOR or

MASTER, this qualification degree is certified with a certificate.

Accurate information to the Bachelor and Master courses can be

obtained from employees of YASKAWA Academy.

“Open” Training
The freedom to work intensively on your own.
You, as a user would like to ....
n … practise on a YASKAWA MOTOMAN robot without interrupting production of your plant.
n … strengthen and deepen the knowledge and skills acquired in a training course with further practical
exercises.
n … refresh and deepen your knowledge and skills you obtained in one of our training courses that you
attended some time ago.
n … test and try functions and applications for which you do not have the opportunity in your company
due to the absence of available robots.

Course Purpose and Content

We offer you the opportunity to use a YASKAWA MOTOMAN robot independently for your tasks and
exercises. Industrial robots of controller generations MRC, XRC, NX100, NXC100 DX100, FS100 and DX200
are available for your “open” and independent training.

With respect to the availability of specific robot types and their respective applications, please contact the
YASKAWA Academy. For your support, a trainer of the YASKAWA Academy will be assigned to you to help
you with problems and to answer your questions.

Minimum Prerequisite: Operator training

Bring along: Your training documentation from
previous training course(s)

Extensive training programme in a

professional environment

The YASKAWA Academy offers a highly differen-

tiated and extensive range of training courses for
the widest range of interests and skill levels.
The equipment is technically very modern and
geared towards a positive learning atmosphere.

The high proportion of practical teaching content

and exercises on the robot convey the acquired
knowledge with an excellent connection to real
application in place. We are pleased that our
SUMO automation system Flexiplex contributes
further to the intensification of
the practical experience aspect.

Something very
special.
At regular intervals we offer special trainings, events and workshops.
On our home page you will find current information.

Should you wish special training, we will create an individualised training plan just for you in
accordance with your needs and requirements.

At our place or yours?

Are there reasons why you prefer training at home? Then we gladly come to you on location
of your factory. Our offer is world-wide; we offer the possibility that our experienced trainers train
and teach your employees in their familiar environment.

We will advise you on the possibilities and together with you weigh up the advantages and
possible disadvantages. Should the training-technical equipment not be available on location of
your facility, we will bring everything along. Should the required number of training robots not be
available, you have the additional option to book our mobile training robot “Training in motion”.

Contact the staff of our YASKAWA Academy for more details.

Mobile Cell | YASKAWA Academy | 41 |

“Training in motion“
Our Mobile Training Cell.
To participate in training sessions outside the YASKAWA Academy, we conceptualized this
training cell with the same quality. It is important to us, that, taking into consideration the safety
procedures, a less complicated and faster assembly at the construction site is accomplished.

The training cell is easy to move, fits through “normal” door width and can thus be used in almost
every classroom. Apart from electricity, no other media are needed, since the gripper system
consists of magnetic grippers. The controls are integrated and meet our training standards.
All necessary consumables, such as tools and equipment will be supplied.

You will be surprised to see how quickly you can perform the first movements of the robot
after delivery.

For details on shipping and scheduling availability, please inquire at the YASKAWA Academy.

The trend towards flexible manufacturing,

i.e. handling of robots, has grown into a
decisive economic factor.
Apart from purely technical problems, particularly
elements of ecology have led to new insights.
Subsequently, it is not the goal of automation any
more to completely replace humans by technology,
but rather to teach employees new skills and
competences.

WIFI OÖ as early as already 1988 grappled with

this task and started with seminars in the field of
robotics. Today, the WIFI in Linz is just one of many
certified training centres for YASKAWA.
We're always keen on behalf of our customers to
keep the technical equipment on the latest level.
WIFI-students thus enrol to acquire future-oriented
competences and qualifications
for YASKAWA robot technologies.
