ABSTRACT:
Reliable route selection is a major issue in Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs). To establish route
with more reliability, there is a need of stability and link tolerability. In previous works, it was identified
that only stability is adopted for route reliability selection. In this research work, cluster based multicast
routing for balancing stability and energy efficiency in MANET to increase network lifetime based on
fault tolerable routes. These routes are established as multiple routes by selecting path reliability
parameters and expected transmission period metric. In first phase, multipath route establishment is
implemented with reliability count value and minimum route error messages. In second phase, the fault
tolerable routes are identified in either primary routes or alternative routes based on the calculation of
tolerability rate. In last phase, energy consumption after route transmission and reception is implemented
to achieve maximum energy efficiency. From the simulation results, the proposed scheme achieves better
results in terms of energy efficiency, remaining energy, fault tolerability rate, end to end delay and
overhead than previous schemes. Our proposed scheme improves energy efficiency from 25 to 88 Joules,
achieves low end to end delay (6-18 secs), Fault tolerant rate (17-97 links/secs), residual energy (97-67
Joules) and has control overhead (4-18 packets).

ABSTRACT:
Whether you’re using wireless internet in a coffee shop, stealing it from the guy next door, or
competing for bandwidth at a conference, you have probably gotten frustrated at the slow speeds you face
when more than one device is tapped into the network. As more and more people and their many devices
access wireless internet, clogged airwaves are going to make it. One germen phycist. Harald Haas has
come up with a solution he calls ―data through illumination‖ –taking the fibber out of fiber optic by
sending data through an LED light bulb that varies in intensity faster than the human eye can follow.

ABSTRACT:
In the society, water distribution is an issues which is not taken seriously. This project is
proposed to distribute the water in a proper channelized manner using embedded technology. In order to
implement water distribution system in a proper channelized manner to the end users, a control room
should be provided nearby the water tank with a microcontroller (arduino) to regulate water supply in a
proper time interval. The solenoid valve is used to supply water, which stops automatically when the time
interval limit has reached. The solenoid valve is controlled using an arduino to control the flow of water
accordingly for a fixed duration of time. The GSM module is employed for wireless communication so
that message can be sent to the user before a day of water supply. And by using WIFI module water level
in the tank is loaded to the web server. Able monitor water usages in particular area. Water distribution
can be controlled by the web server by the officer, he can also monitor it online.

ABSTRACT:
This paper illustrates the street light glowing system on vehicle detecting movement. Controlling
of street light is of utmost importance in developing country like India to reduce the power consumption.
This paper presents a street light control system which combines various technologies: a timer, a
statistics of traffic flow magnitude, photodiodes, Light Emitting Diodes (LED), power transistors.IR
Sensors used on either sides of the road send logic command s for the LEDs at the output to get glowing
for a patch ahead Intensity control is also possible by pulse width modulation based on sensing the
movement and density of vehicles. Thus this way of dynamically changing intensity or off to on helps in
saving a lot of energy. A programmable microcontroller is engaged to provide different duty cycle for
different intensities at different density conditions.

ABSTRACT:
In this developing world, devices are expected to work in real time. The IOT (Internet of things) is
used to monitor various electronic devices from one place. Especially in the power monitoring system,
this can serve as a tool to calculate the EB meter reading for the particular duration of time and send the
readings automatically to the EB office. In addition to this, a new feature is added to indicate the usage of
100 units as it is considered to be free. This idea will be more useful for industries to consume less power
as the electricity usage is indicated frequently and , if the consumer does not pay the bill within the due
date, the power supply will be automatically cut-off and supply is given once they have paid the bill.
Another significant feature is that if there occurs anypower related crisis or other problems such as
damage of fuse in a particular area, then the address of the particular area will be sent to the EB Office.
This will be done by implementing it in the coding part. Thus by this technique the amount of power to
consumed can be reduced and proportionally the amount of Electricity to be generated can also be
reduced.

ABSTRACT:
In first part of the research work, Neighbor based Cluster Location Aware Routing (NCLAR) is
proposed to achieve more packet delivery rate with high location accuracy. It consists of three phases. In
first phase, cluster region is formed with less signal delay value and more signal strength. In second
phase, neighbor node routing table is constructed and updated with addition of more fields. These fields
are reliability, probability of successful transmission of packets and delay. The back off timer is estimated
to update the table within a periodical time. In last phase, location status navigator is calculated to
increase location accuracy and to maximize the packet delivery ratio.

ABSTRACT:
A Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) is an autonomous and short-lived association of group of
mobile nodes that communicate with each other over wireless link. If a node wants to communicate with a
node that is not directly within its communication range, it uses intermediate node as routers. For
reducing the energy consumption an energy efficient clustering mechanism is used. An Energy Efficient
cluster Mechanism (EECM) with firefly algorithm and also recommended a cluster key management for
secure transmission in MANET. A Firefly Algorithm (FA) is a recent nature inspired optimization
algorithm that simulates the flash pattern and characteristics of fireflies. Clustering is a popular data
analysis technique to identify homogeneous groups of objects based on the values of their
attributes. Here, we propose an efficient Cluster key Management (CKM) scheme for secure
communication in dynamic MANETs characterized by node mobility. The CKM supports efficient key
updates when a node leaves or joins a cluster and ensures forward and backward key secrecy.

ABSTRACT:
Public Distribution System (PDS) or Ration System is under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs,
Food and was established by the Government of India to distribute major food through a network of
public distribution shop across the country. Each ration card holder is issued with a smart card and the
ration shop vendor scans the unique barcode in the smart card to distribute the commodities and
irrespective of the queue one should wait for a long time to get their goods. Hence for reducing the
waiting time, we proposed a token-based system. Our project mainly focused to make this distribution
system as open window system thereby reducing the queue on large numbers. A device scans the smart
card and displays a token number for that card in LCD and also sends the token number to the card
holder’s registered mobile number via SMS. After a threshold limit say prior 2 tokens the system again
sends an remainder SMS to the corresponding token holder so that they can get their commodities
without a delay.

ABSTRACT:
In today's ever-growing industrial prowess, the global water reserve is perpetually becoming
sparse. The usable water resources on earth are limited. In fact, 99.7% of the planet water is unusable by
humans unless it goes through costly and environmentally-harmful procedures while usable water on
earth is sparse and costly to treat, statistics show excessive use worldwide. Penalties are issued to limit
the excessive consumption; however, their impact is marginal as they do not identify the reason for the
exorbitant consumption. Therefore, giving users the full awareness about their water consumption will
greatly help in minimizing the water waste. This project aims to present a smart self-powered water
monitoring system that uses GSM based voice calling for alert whenever the water comes through the
pipe and at the time it stops which prevents the wastage of water overflowing from the tank. The system
consists of a GSM device that can be installed at any water source. This system gives the user the ability
to identify time of water flow into the tank and also PH sensor is used to check the acidity of water and
also turbidity sensor is used for sensing the particles in the incoming water on the mobile phone. The
water Conductivity is also sensed and based on the predefined limits the buzzer will be activated

ABSTRACT:
The aim of our research paper is to represent our project which makes human driving
safer and to overcome accidents. Now a days, many accidents are happening because of alcohol
consumption of the driver. Thus drunk and drive is a major reason of accidents all over the world.
Alcohol Detection in Cars is designed using sensors for the safety of the people seating inside the car.
This project is developed by integrating alcohol sensor with PIC Controller board. PIC Controller is
able to handle more functions than conventional microcontrollers. The alcohol sensor used in this
project is MQ3 which is used to detect the alcohol content in human breath. Since sensor has fine
sensitivity range around meters, it can suit to any vehicle and can easily be hidden from the suspects.
This device should be fitted / installed inside the vehicle and the GSM is connected to the PIC controller
16F877A where messages are sent to registered mobile number if the person is drunk. The car is
automatically parked using Ultra sonic sensor and then the engine is locked. Thus accidents can be
reduced.

ABSTRACT:
Motorcycles and bikes form an integral part of personalized transportation in India. Every year,
about 300,000 teenagers go to the emergency department because of bike injuries, and at least 10,000
teenagers have injuries that require a few days in the hospital. Statistics say, motorcycle deaths
accounted for 15 % of all motor vehicle crash deaths in 2015 and were more than double the number of
motorcyclist deaths in 1997. AND Major reason for those accidents are due to the consumption of
alcohol. In this Project an onboard alcohol sensor also analyzes the breath of the rider to detect if the
current intoxication level is above the legal threshold. Based on the sensor the vehicle is turned off or On.
An oil sensor is also included so that the engine will not start if oil in the engine is empty. For avoiding
Vehicle theft an RFID reader is included which detects the owner of the vehicle and allows him the
control of the vehicle by a one time password which is send through SMS by the GSM module in the
setup.

ABSTRACT:
An Air Ad-Hoc Network is similar to the Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) which is mostly used
in data transmission of aeronautical vehicles. The Air Ad-hoc Network is a dynamic, distributed and a
heterogeneous network which does not rely on the pre-existing infrastructures such as routers and access
points. Instead each node forwards the data to neighbour nodes or to the destination node. Based on the
transmission time, data link between the nodes, reliability of the network, distance between the nodes,
bandwidth of the network, and efficient transmission of the data to the desired destiny, there exists
different types of links to communicate which are disparate. The optimization of the data transmission
provokes evolution of various types of routing algorithms. This paper explains about a detailed survey of
data transmission mechanisms and its various types of algorithms.

ABSTRACT:
There has been a great demand for the analysis of non-invasive, sensitivity glucose sensor system
which enhances speed and similar to the real time electronic readout of blood glucose levels. In our
routine, glucose level is monitored by prinking the blood from the patient’s finger which is quite in
involve. In our method the patient’s glucose level is calculated by the acetone sensor which is activated
by the infrared sensor. Focusing the sensor the patient is advised to below his breath towards the blower.
By the algorithm designed, the amount of blood glucose present is evaluated. This value in-turn is used
for calculated of the amount of insulin required. All these data that are interpreted are transmitted to the
end device paired. Acetone gas sensing plays a vital role for environmental monitoring and also used for
screening of diabetes mellitus (DM). Though current diabetes level is measured using blood samples
which is inconvenient and painful, using acetone level non-invasive. The glucose level is estimated by the
concentration of the acetone in the exhaled air. It has correlation among them. A TGS822 tin oxide
(SnO2) sensor is mainly used to detect the concentration of acetone in the exhaled air. For accuracy, the
temperature, humidity and pressure parameters are considered. The main aspect is to evaluate the blood
glucose level of the diabetic patient of insulin required and upload the same in the cloud server.

ABSTRACT:
Most of the road accidents occur due to over speeding and traffic violation. Running vehicle
disregarding the red light has become a major problem now a day. Due to increasing number of vehicles
on the road, monitoring traffic violation manually has become tedious and too complicated. Reckless
driving causes serious causality and even death. The rate of road accident is going on increasing and has
become a major area of concern. To reduce the rate of road accident we propose a system which controls
the speed of vehicle automatically in any critical zone, without major inconvenience to driver.

ABSTRACT:
A simple way to make safer is to reduce the number of distracting activities while driving.
Research show that when a person use the mobile phone while driving such as talking or dialing leads to
an accident. The concept explained in this paper is to disable the mobile phone’s keypad during fast
driving. By using Mobile phone in low speed limit, we can reduce the accident. To ensure safety and
security the phone should be disabled automatically by using this device without any manual help. Mobile
phone use should be restricted in certain speed limit. To ensure there is peace and quiet, which allows
concentration and focusing on work. This device is not only for vehicles, by increasing the range we can
also fix it in important places like, conference halls in office, auditorium etc. This device is the advance
model of jammer, in this model the users can view the notification but not able to replay them. This could
be done by using Transmitter Receivers, PIC controller. The mobile phone gets back to the normal mode
when the user attends the call when minimizing the speed of the vehicle.

ABSTRACT:
The openness of wireless and sensor networks offer tempting target for malicious attacks,
especially vulnerable to spoofing attacks. Spoofing attack poses a serious threat as they represent a form
of identity compromise. Malicious data attacks have raised widespread concerns on data integrity and
security of cyber physical systems. The process of transmitting the data packets with forged source
address is known as IP spoofing. By altering the target addresses, attackers can easily change the target
from one destination to another. Phishing attack is a method of tricking users into unknowingly providing
personal and financial information or sending funds to attackers. It uses some form of electronic
messaging such as email to provide a link to what appears to be a legitimate site but is actually a
malicious site controlled by the attacker. Phishing is a hybrid attack combining both social engineering
and technological aspects and combatting phishing attacks requires dealing with both aspect The
phishing websites have been detected by analyzing the URL site checker and malicious external links in
the website which transmits the user data to an external server. This assures that even when the
distribution of phishing URLs changes, the detector remains effective. The prevention of these two attacks
can be attained using NA Algorithm.

ABSTRACT:
This project presents a device for accurate pesticide spraying capable of dealing with formless
shapes and variable object targets. The device includes a single spray pump motor with an automatically
adjustable spraying distance using ultrasonic sensors, all mounted on a pan tilt unit. The site-specific
spraying device aims to spray specific targets while reducing the use of pesticides. This project proposes
the development of an object-specific sprayer solution. The developed device aims to reduce pesticide
application by spraying individual targets specifically by setting the object distance of the spraying
according to the target. Experiments were conducted in order to evaluate the spray nozzle flow rate in
relation to the spray object and distance relation to the nozzle’s position. The results indicated that the
spraying device is capable of reducing the amount of pesticides applied. Actual savings depend on the
spraying durations, target size, and distribution. We believe that such a device can be used in modern
agriculture and can be combined with a robotic sprayer navigating autonomously along crop fields. Such
a device will contribute to reduced pesticide application.

ABSTRACT:
Maternal Period is the golden period for women which must be celebrated by others. But in many
cases it ends up the life time of women. This is mainly due to improper checkup.Over 75% of the maternal
death happens due to severe bleeding and infections during delivery. To reduce these deaths, we have
proposed a well-planned idea using the trending technology called Internet of Things [IOT]. To make
their checkup at their doorstep, we have used five different sensors to take their vital parameters like
Blood pressure level, blood sugar level, body temperature, heart beat rateand foetal’s movement. And the
data of all vital parameters are then send to the ESP-12 microcontroller and then send to the respective
doctor through Wi-Fi support provided by NODE MCU board. And the doctor will also be provided many
options like prescribing tablets for the patients and booking an appointment for the patient if the doctor
feels to meet the patient directly. These are the efforts which we have made to save the lives of the
pregnant woman.

ABSTRACT:
As technology scales, the physical size of the Integrated Circuit(IC) is reduced by means of
reducing the transistor count and Input Output (I/O) pins. In order to minimize the I/O pins the
interconnect delays will be reduced internally. In major applications the integrated circuits plays a major
role because it control faster devices to communicate with slower devices and also allow devices to
communicate with each other over a serial data bus without data loss. Hence to allow serial
communication and to reduce the interconnect delays the I2C (Inter-Integrated Circuit) protocol is
considered. The I2C controller provides support for a communication link between integrated circuits and
memory units on a board. Storing data in a digital format on chip before transmittal to a host computer
via an I2C interface should result in improved system performance since the transmission of digital data
is much less susceptible to interference form environmental noise.I2C is a two wire, bidirectional serial
bus that provides effective data communication between two devices. I2C bus supports many devices and
each device is recognized by its unique address. Secure Digital is the most widely used portable memory
standard. Its ultra-compact and rugged architecture, simple interface, high security, low power
consumption and reliable operation. This module was designed in Verilog HDL and synthesized using
Xilinx ISE Design Suite 13.2.

ABSTRACT:
As world technology develops, the need for power also increases. In future, the need or power
will be high. This proposed method uses piezo electric transducer to produce power using its property
[1]. Countries like India are very convenient to establish this power transmission. We can keep the piezo
electric tiles in pedestrian way, railway platforms and even in speed breakers. This also focuses in using
the wasted human pressure. When a pressure is applied on the tiles, these are converted to electrical
energy. This is done by piezo electric transducer by using its piezo electric effect. This electrical energy is
stored. Later it is converted to AC using an inverter circuit and can be used for various AC components.
The AC component used in the proposed method is Ac load bulb. This proposed method concentrates
more on bringing an efficient output from the used piezo electric material. This power source can be
implemented in the agriculture, industries, home applications etc.,this proposed method uses 30 discs
PZT type transducer. It is inferred that the total output voltage of transducer is 20-25 V in an efficient
way. [2-5]

ABSTRACT: This paper is portrays about comparison between PID controller and model predictive
control in the nonlinear tank process. Due to the nonlinear shape of tank the level control is the immense
challenge. Numerous process industries use conical tanks due to its shape subsidizes to enhanced
drainage of solid mixtures, slurries and viscid liquids. The conical tank is a non-linear system used in
many industries like food, pharmaceuticals, etc. for draining purpose. Most of the industries depends on
PID controller for controlling purpose. MPC controller can able to control the system with better
efficiency. When the performance is analyzed MPC provides better performance results when compared
to PID. Rise time, settling time, maximum peak overshoot, ISE, IAE values of MPC is comparatively low
when compared with PID. Hence MPC can be used instead of PID controller for controlling the non-
linear systems.

ABSTRACT:
Now- a- days, power is most abundant one. While walking, running or during locomotion human
energy get wasted. Walking is usual way to move from one place to another place. By doing so, energy
from humans will get wasted. Here, we are going to utilize the waste energy of humans during
locomotion and we will convert waste energy into some usable form. Piezoelectric crystals operated on
basis of piezoelectric effect which is used to convert the mechanical energy of human into electrical
energy. The rack and pinion mechanism is combined with the piezoelectric crystal to generate the more
power. While walking or running, pressure will be generated from our footstep. The piezoelectric and
rack and pinion set up will be implemented on the platform. This is the way to harvest power from the
human and we can accumulate that generated power with the help of battery. The initial investment is
high but it is easy to maintain and implement. It is the non-conventional energy system which saves our
time and it can be implemented in all public places such as Parks, Railway stations etc., in order to
generate more power.

ABSTRACT:
A wireless sensor network (WSN) is regularly deployed in cruel or hostile condition to work in an
unattended mode due to this it is inclined to different attack during the routing process since it is an open
wireless medium. Encryption and validation based secure mechanisms cannot stay away from the attacks
for complex processing. To overcome these issues trust based secure system is generally utilized in WSNs.
In this paper we present secure cluster head selection by calculating the weight using minimum energy
consumption to avoid malicious node. Where trust evaluation based dynamic behaviour monitoring
scheme for evidence collection in wireless sensor network is used. Based on this behavioural monitoring
scheme, a trust based system is proposed which is additionally incorporated in cluster head routing
protocol. From this we can acquire high network lifetime and it also correctly detect the malicious node.

ABSTRACT:
Cooperative communication with relay node will be the one of the most efficient technique to
improve coverage area and to boost data rate. Channel impairment by fading is one of the most
significant problem in wireless communication, which can be overcome by using transmit diversity with
cooperation between nodes and relay (i.e., movable terminal). In our proposed work, we improved the
coverage area of Base station (BS) by creating a cooperative network containing movable relay node
such as Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) between BS and Mobile node. Moreover, we exploit Spatial
Time Coding (SPC) i.e., 1x2 -alamouti schemes in the transmit diversity for obtaining better Bit-Error
rate (BER). Finally the performance of the proposed work is evaluated in terms of BER, Signal –to-Noise
Ratio (SNR), and Outage Probability.

Recent research works shows that the design of effective codebooks play a vital role in
determining the quality of reconstructed images in the vector quantization based image compression
schemes. In our proposed work fuzzy rule based clustering is followed. By evaluating the degrees of
membership of the input vector and the code vectors, the degrees of closeness along with certainty factor
are ensured. Also to design an optimal codebook, the code vectors are updated using the stochastic
optimization process PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization). Experimental results of the proposed method
shows that the training of the codebook could be constructed with less iterations and also it is proven that
the codebook constructed using the proposed technique is effective is producing a quality improvement in

collaborative Non-Local Means (CNLM) filter and the performance is analysed by using Peak Signal to
Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Mean Square Error (MSE). For the denoised image segmentation is performed
by region growing, active contour, watershed segmentation and a hybrid technique which combines
region growing and histogram based active contour segmentation is proposed. Using Gray Level Co-
occurence Matrix (GLCM) 23 texture features are extracted. Out of 23 features extracted, 13 features are
selected based on the ranking method

ABSTRACT:
High performance approximate adders typically comprises of multiple small sub-adders and
carry prediction unit. In the Simple Accuracy Reconfigurable Adder (SARA) the sub-adders are designed
using the RCA (Ripple Carry Adder) which increases the time delay, due to the carry propagation.
Whereas in this paper the sub-adders are designed using the CSLA (Carry Select Adder), to enhance the
speed performance by reducing the delay and power. The design that contains no redundancy or error
detection/correction circuitry and uses very simple carry prediction schemes. This technique can be used
in many applications such as audio, video and image processing.

ABSTRACT:
Dermatology is one of the major fields of prescription which is worried about the analysis and
treatment of skin disorders. Skin diseases are among the most widely recognized medical issues around
the world. Regardless of being common, their determination is quite troublesome and requires broad
knowledge and expertise in the area. Skin disease might cause severe health and monetary consequences
for patients if not detected and controlled early. Early recognition can forestall the condition from
worsening. The proposed work presents the development of an automated skin disease diagnosis system
which takes images of a skin disease as an input by the user and predicts the type of skin disease. The
system uses a dual stage approach for detection and displaying process which effectively uses image
processing and IoT. In the 1st stage, the image of the skin condition is subject to numerous types of
preprocessing techniques followed by feature extraction. The extracted features are fed to the SVM
classifier to identify disease and predict accordingly. On training and testing for 5 diseases the system
produces an overall prediction accuracy of 90%.

ABSTRACT:
As technology scales, the physical size of the Integrated Circuit(IC) is reduced by means of reducing
the transistor count and Input Output (I/O) pins. In order to minimize the I/O pins the interconnect delays
will be reduced internally. In major applications the integrated circuits plays a major role because it
control faster devices to communicate with slower devices and also allow devices to communicate with
each other over a serial data bus without data loss. Hence to allow serial communication and to reduce
the interconnect delays the I2C (Inter-Integrated Circuit) protocol is considered. The I2C controller
provides support for a communication link between integrated circuits and memory units on a board.
Storing data in a digital format on chip before transmittal to a host computer via an I 2C interface should
result in improved system performance since the transmission of digital data is much less susceptible to
interference form environmental noise.I2C is a two wire, bidirectional serial bus that provides effective
data communication between two devices. I2C bus supports many devices and each device is recognized
by its unique address. Secure Digital is the most widely used portable memory standard. Its ultra-
compact and rugged architecture, simple interface, high security, low power consumption and reliable
operation. This module was designed in Verilog HDL and synthesized using Xilinx ISE Design Suite 13.2.

ABSTRACT:
The rapid developments in communication and computing technologies promote several
advanced traffic control strategies to deal with these problems. The traffic light control at road
intersections is regarded as a major strategy to guarantee the safe crossing of vehicles and the
pedestrians lead to efficient network operations. In order to calculate the density, various sensors are
used along the road side. The proposed system uses infrared sensors to calculate the density and a PIC
micro controller fixed at the traffic signal. The signal changes to green if the density is high in a lane. By
using zigbee transceivers, the emergency vehicle can move through the signal without any delay. This
paper is done with the motive of reducing the traffic congestion at the road intersections. Internet of
Things(IoT) is used to collect and store the real time data from the system. The high, medium and low
densities of the traffic can be spectated in the cloud and can be used for future analysis.

IMPLEMENTATION OF ENERGY EFFICIENT ECG

PROCESSOR FOR THE DETECTION OF ARRHYTHMIA
ABSTRACT:
Cardiovascular arrhythmia is a very common disease that might cause sudden death in
some cases if not treated in time. Real-time monitoring of cardiac state to provide early warning
of such disease is of great importance to health care and life saving. An energy-efficient
electrocardiogram (ECG) processor for arrhythmia detection with a weak strong hybrid
classifier that includes a weak linear classifier (WLC) and a strong support vector machine
(SVM) classifier. WLC can only identify the beats with distinct characteristics by performing
simple threshold comparisons based on beat interval feature and a novel morphology feature
named QRS area ratio. The beats that are unclassified by WLC will activate the more powerful
but energy-guzzling SVM classifier. Principal component analysis (PCA) is applied for feature
dimension reduction to lower the complexity of SVM classifier and a sparse matrix computing
architecture is exploited to reduce the computation burden of PCA. The overall accuracy for
MIT-BIH arrhythmia database is 98.2% with energy reduction of 41.7% compared to a single
SVM classifier.

ABSTRACT:
In India, Agriculture has a huge market and the largest economic sector. Still, the farming
processes use some of the traditional practices. Weeding is one of the major tasks that require large
numbers of workers. To reduce the large human power in farming operation, a weed remover or a weeder
is designed which performs the weeding operation by crushing the weeds with the help of roller blades as
an end-effecter. The traditional weeder needs to be pushed by a person and is inconvenient. Inorder to
diminish the process of human intervention, the machine is operated by means of a motor so that the
weeder need not be pushed a by person as it will be an automated process. In this project, the plants
which grows between the rows are automatically considered as weed while inside the row, where crops
mixed with weeds , a classification method is required to identify the weeds. The machine-vision based
(Image Processing) mechanical weeding machine, designed for turmeric and corn fields, was tested in an
environment. The digital image obtained from the vision system was processed using the Matlab platform
and a robotic arm setup was activated with the help of a Raspberry pi to crush the weeds from the field.
The background soil and the plants were separated using ExG-ExR methodology, with zero as the
threshold level to separate the field background from the plants.
