My 2 week of experience as Student-Teacher at Sampaga High School
From January 7 to January 11, 2019
After a week of observations, the moment of truth has arrived. This is the second week that
every student-teacher of Pampanga Colleges worth waiting. The reality seems very near and the
application of what we have learned theoretically will come to realize so soon.
Monday, I was able to attend my very first Flag Ceremony with my
cooperating school. I intensify my sensitivity to observe what the students
are doing in their Monday-morning activities with the Philippine Flag. The
ceremony was quietly simple and very organized.
Once Sir Jessie R. Silvestre stood up and gave
his message to everyone, I noticed everybody
paid their attention. One thing I seriously
remembered is that some student’s mannerism
can’t any longer tolerate. Many of them try to
drum arms chair that causes them to break. He
insisted in a good manner that this thing should
be stopped. A responsible student should pay
respect not only to his/her teacher but also everything

cooperating teacher with a smile, greetings, and
respect. She responded the same way. She immediately took me into her classes and introduce me
to her students. She is handling four grade 7, and one grade 9. I am a little bit annoying because the
time in those days was very fast and I was trying to absorb everything. After a day or two, everything
for me became easy and I can even recognize details by details and I am beginning to master the
entire daily program.
During our spare time,
Ma’am Demi and I have been always
talking together and conversing so
many things about how we can
improve the learning capabilities of
some students and how should I
respond to some specific
circumstances inside the classroom
situations.
Was taken during my Remedial Reading Time for
some of the 7-Generosity students.

One time, our topics were focused
on those students who still considered
non-readers students. She has testified
and I’ve learned her technique in guiding
these students to learn to read. The
teacher is giving a specific day and time
using methods every week which is
composed of reading and testing
materials from Australia. Until I’ve
realized It was the best time for me to
bring myself into it and keep telling myself
that I need to apply what I have already
learned from my beloved teachers. I
believe through a remedial approach, I
will surely improve my teaching skills as
well may uplift my burden and passion
with these less privileged students.
Actually, my CT has given me the right to
make a simple reading assessment to
those students of different sections. After
the reading assessment, I have decided to
propose a program. I have told my CT that
I would like to provide an additional one
hour every day from 3:00 – 4:00 pm next
February. And gladly she agreed and
willing to assist me for the endorsement.
Friday, the last day of my first
week as student-teacher, would be the
best day of my internship so far, for I have
received a letter of instruction from the
office of the School Head asking me to be
the speaker and facilitator of the incoming
Campus Session with a title- “Discovering
Your Destiny. It is a session intended only
for all the grade 7 students and the
purpose of it is to encourage them and
motivate them, to discover their potential
as individuals and find their place in the
society, to develop their skills in
accordance with what they wanted to be,
and how to overcome changes and adapt

period of growth and development.
I Hope my journey will flourish my eagerness because of everything around me.
