SEVEN WONDERS OF THE WORLD

1.CHRIST THE REDEEMER.

The massive statue of Christ the Redeemer is a matter of national pride for all Brazilians as
Brazil is a religiously diverse country. In Portuguese, it is known as Cristo Redentor. This 38
meters’ tall statue is made of reinforced concrete that ensures that it remains strong and
durable.

the world.

The Great Wall of China is a wall that covers much of the northern border of China. The
length of the Great Wall built by the Ming Dynasty is around 5,500 miles long. If you take
the length of all the portions of the wall built by every Chinese Dynasty, plus various
branches, the total comes to 13,171 miles long! No wonder they call it the Great Wall.

CHARACTERISTICS:

 There are over 7,000 lookout towers that are part of the Great Wall.
 It is the longest man made structure in the world.
 Smoke signals were used to indicate an attack. The more enemies that were
attacking, the more smoke signals they would make.

3.MACHU PICCHU

Machu Picchu was built starting 1450–1460. Construction appears to date from two great
Inca rulers, Pachacutec Inca Yupanqui (1438–1471) and Túpac Inca Yupanqui (1472–1493).
There is a consensus among archaeologists that Pachacutec ordered the construction of
the royal estate for himself, most likely after a successful military campaign. Though
Machu Picchu is considered to be a "royal" estate, surprisingly, it would not have been
passed down in the line of succession. Rather it was used for 80 years before being
abandoned, seemingly because of the Spanish Conquests in other parts of the Inca
Empire. It is possible that most of its inhabitants died from smallpox introduced by
travelers before the Spanish conquistadors arrived in the area.

CHARACTERISTICS:

 Machu Picchu is an ancient village built in the mid-fifteen century

 It was used as a religious shrine
 It is located 2430 meters above sea level in Perú
