PHILOSOPHY

THE PHILOPSOPHY of St. Vincent’s High School is that; connecting with our students
create an environmental growth, helping each students with commitment and dedication
can provide an atmosphere of living and learning in the light of faith and that positive school
culture, promote success and positive behavior.

VISION

THE VISION of St. Vincent’s High School is to provide students with solid foundation
as they mature and to be global citizens who will become future leaders who will draw their
faith as they make decisions for the community, nation & the world.

MISSION

THE MISSION of St. Vincent’s High School as follower of Christ is to encourage,


strengthen, share faith and facilitates the holistic development of all God’s children.

GOALS

 To develop to the fullest the academic, spiritual and practical potentials and
skills of teachers and students.
 To strengthen the commitment and competence of teachers.
 To mold a BEC among teachers and students thus intensify the religious and
values education which is the core curriculum.
 To have upgraded physical plans and facilities.
 To safeguard the individual integrity, the well-being of the society and the
stability of the nation.
 To make teacher’s compensation economically satisfactory.
 To establish a culture of responsible parenthood.
SCHOOL DESCRIPTION

St. Vincent’s High school educates children from preschool through Senior High. Each
grade has a Catholic lay teacher dedicated to the mission of Catholic education.
Administration consists of a lay Principal and a Campus Ministry. The Archdiocesan of
Ozamis City provides oversight and direction in our Catholic Identity.

St. Vincent’s High School is faithful to Catholic teachings, respectful of the role of the
parents and family in child’s education, and has high regard for academic excellence. Class
size currently is an average of 10 pupils in the Elementary and 40 students per class in the
secondary. This ratio of students of students to teacher, especially in the elem. Provide
opportunity to build strong relationship as well as individualize the students’ education
based on their needs.

SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PROCESS

In the early part of the year 2018, the School Improvement Committee consisting of
Mr. Dawny Albarico, Mrs. Estela J. Quindao, Mrs. Luz Cabiles, Miss Clarissa Mae Mayola, and
Nellie A. Omambac evaluated the current school plan. Five categories were created to base
the school’s improvement plan upon: Catholic Identity, Curriculum and Instruction,
Marketing and Retention, Facilities, and Finance. The committee started by evaluating the
school’s mission statement band connecting it with care beliefs by the staff, planning
committee and parents as well. From there, the committee went through each category by
developing the goals for improvement, the action plan to achieve and resources needed.
Upon completion of the initial draft of the improvement plan it was given to the school
Advisory committee to further edit. Prior to adoption, the plan was given to St. Vincent’s
High School family to look through and consult with the administration with any inquiries.
The school improvement plan will be adopted in fall 2018 and will be evaluated at the end
of each year to determine needed changes and additions.

PURPOSE AND VISION

This document is intended to outline the strategic plan for our school over the
course of the next three years. The key goals set two years ago at the time of the writing of
the prior Strategic Plan included normalizing and increasing sources of revenue, increase the
levels of academic achievements, and upgrading the physical plant. This document will
refine the prior goals and detail the target for the next three years.

It will be critical to critical to further strengthen the financial position and


successfully market the school in the next several years. Key goals and initiatives for the
coming three years are as follows;

 Increase enrolment through recruitment and marketing in a competitive market


place. Highlights the differentiating factors that give the School its competitive edge,
including its focus on catholic values, its strategic location, its innovation, and its
track record of providing students with solid foundation as they, mature into
virtuous, global citizens who become future church and community leaders.
 Grow the annual funding campaign as strategic source of revenue, including
strengthening the ties to alumni, the local community and other key holders.
 Advance further integration of technology into curricula and broaden the academic-
related programs. Expand digital forms of learning and addition of clubs that
enhance the academic experience.
 Drive the transformation of fund raising to support not only capital projects but also
to generate on-going operating revenue.

BACKGROUND

St. Vincent’s High School started its operation in 1946 through the indefatigable
efforts of Rev. Father Patrick Cronin, a Columbian Priest. He was highly regarded as the
founder of the school. Other Columbian Father followed him also worked hard for the
school development and improvements.

It was in the year 1979, when the administrative was turned to the Filipino priests.
With its humble beginning St. Vincent’s High School continues to serve the
community and produced many successful graduates and alumni who become men and
women in the services to the community and to the country.
Now, the school is in crisis due to decrease of enrolment but then the school has its
Senior High School.
St. Vincent’s High School Alumni Association extends helps to this Alumni meter by
the way of donating Two-room in a Senior High School Building, chairs, and some school
equipments and facilities. Their-on-going help to the school is to be the benefactors of 80
Grade 7 students for School Years 2019-2020.

LEADERSHIP AND GOVERNANCE

Our school operates under auspices of the office of Education of the Archdiocese.
The school is led by our Principal, the elementary school, School-In-Charge. Our Principal
receives direction from the Office of ACE through Ace Supervisor under the leadership of
the Superintendent.

Our Principal and School-In-Charge collaboratively work with the School Board of
Trustees which in participates in the decision making process to develop and oversee the
school’s fidelity to its mission, its standard of excellence, and its operational vitality. The
school board of trustees looks to attract members from across the school community,
including currents parents, alumni parents, and unaffiliated local business people. This
varied membership profile is in keeping with the direction set forth by the ARCHEDIOCESE of
Education.
EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING AND LEARNING

Our school follows the guidelines set forth by the Archdiocesan Office of Education.
All academic subjects such as mathematics, reading, language, arts, science, and social
studies are taught by highly qualified and enthusiastic teachers and are aligned to standards
based curricula.

Elements consistent through all grade levels are as follows:

 All grades have accesses to interactive projectors, computers, for in class use. The
students learn to use the internet for research, and utilize state-of-art software, to
give presentations, and engage the mathematical analyses in specific academic
content area.
 The study of religion takes place every day. Students take an active in preparing and
celebrating monthly school liturgies.
 Students participate in physical education, music and arts with teachers who in these
areas are dedicated of these pursuits.
 Throughout the year educational, cultural, and health and safety enrichment
programs are provided.
 The science laboratory is utilized.

The school diligently works towards affectively meeting the needs of students with
remedial needs. Religious formation is central to the Catholic identity of the school, and
students actively participate in the sacramental life of the church. At the beginning and end
of every school day all students are led in prayer by the teachers. Students attend mass on
holy Days as well as each month during the school year. Classes rotate the responsibility of
supporting Masses in song and word. All catholic students from Grade 11 to Grade 12
receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation at least once per year.

OPERATIONAL VITALITY

Expenses are expected to increase in the next years by as 5 % annually that will
warrant added revenue generation. The breakdown of current school expenses by category
as a percentage of overall expense is as follows.

PERSONNEL

The school is blessed with qualified and dedicated faculty, office staff to foster high
levels of student’s achievement and development. They regularly participate in professional
learning communities to develop, implement and continuously improve the effectiveness of
the curriculum.
