progress.
Projects: Every mid-term, the student will present projects that are going to help him/her to learn
and develop his/her languages skills.
Portfolio: Students’ material is going to be based on the portfolio given by the teacher. They
have to print it and bring it to class. Every mid-term students have to give it to be checked, if this
is complete and well organized they wil have the points proposed.
Students
Regular Students: the regular students are those who take the class and accomplish the rules
and the statements.
Exempt students: The student will be exempt if he/she show a good language level throw a
grammar and oral exam. If the interested student shows an official certification (TOEFL/Trinity
College) will be exempt automatically.
Note: an exempt student will skip the class, but if there is the opportunity to help other
students he/she will assigned to help.
Special students: if the student did not show a good level of language in the grammar and oral
exam to be exempt, but the teacher sees good level and opportunities to be better, the students
must work by himself/herself on each project and prepare for the exam.
Rules
Student, remember to follow the next rules to have a good environment during the class and to
take advantage of the learning.
Respect: remember to take turns when someone is speaking or participating, during that time
you have to listen to this person.
Cellphones: cellphones are not allowed during the class, that’s why I am sending a letter to your
parents. You have to turn off them or keep them in silence away from you (in your backpacks).
Cleanliness: keep your classroom clean, no one likes to study in a dirty place/environment.
Punctuality: the student has a 5 minutes tolerance; they can use this time to go out, to the
restroom or water. If the teacher is taking attendance and the student is late but he/she arrives
before the teacher finishes, he/she can have a LATE MARK, after this they can take the class but
with an ABSENCE.
NOTE: 3 late marks are equal to an absence.
Absences: to justify an absence the student must to present and absence note. To present this
absence note the student has 72 hours after the absence but this won’t give him/her the right to
deliver any classwork or assignment on that day.
Permission: ask for permission to go out or to enter to the classroom (in English).
NOTE: after the break the student does not have permission to go out (water, restroom, etc.)
If you follow the previous rules, there will be a harmonious class and everyone is going to take
advantage of the learning.
And remember, it is up to you to work or not to work in class, just remember that this is part of
your learning and there are no excuses.
