Kalkitech Power System Group conducted power system studies for a steel plant in the Middle East, including load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, motor starting studies, harmonic analysis, and protection studies. The studies modeled the power network from 33 kV down to the last relay location at low voltage using Kalkitech's PowerApps software. The system included an electric arc furnace, ladle furnace, SVC, various high and low voltage motors and plants, and switchboards supplying various loads. Sample time current characteristic curves were produced as part of relay coordination studies.
