ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
The most awaited moment of any Endeavour is successful completion ,
but nothing can be done successfully if done alone . Success is the
outcome of contribution and consistent help of various persons and we
thank those once who helped us in successful completion of this project.
First and foremost we would like to thank Dr. PRADEEP SURI ,
director of UIM for providing a healthy and encouraging environment to
study . We are profusely thankful to the department of computer science
and application , our guide HOD Dr. Sonal Sharma, and our faculty “”
. He has been generous enough to provide us an opportunity and
accepting our candidature for the most valuable guidance and affordable
treatment given to us every stage to boost our morale .
DECLARATION
I hereby declare that the project “Online Billing System ”submitted to the
Uttaranchal Institute of Management, is a record of an original work done by
us under the guidance of Mr.Dharmendra Kumarand this project work has not
performed the basis for the award of any Degree or diploma/ associate ship

1. INTRODUCTION
The Billing System is a combination of software and hardware that receives
details and services usage information for customers. It is used to display bill
and serve customer in better and efficient manner . this software project consist
of a effective and easy .GUI to help employee in easy bill calculation and
provide efficient customer service .This Project is based on java application The
project “Billing system” is an application to automate the process of ordering
and billing of a Grocries Online.
Objective
The main objective of this system is to provide convenience to the management
team by developing a computerized system to make processes regarding
Grocries easier. In distinctive, the objectives of are:
The system reduce much of human efforts in calculating bill especially
for huge products.
Saves money and resources and excludes of use of paper in making bills
It provides accuracy and faultless in billing calculations.
The system is designed having attractive GUI and detailed descriptive.
Software Used:
Operating system Windows8.1Pro
Language Java Core
Software used NetBeans IDE 8.1 RC
Hardware Used:
Name of component : Specifications
Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i3
RAM : 4 GB
Hard disc : 1TB
Monitor : 15” color monitor or advance
Keyboard : Any Keyboard.
Mouse : Any Keyboard.
Printer : Incase of printing reports.
4. System Analysis
Before we begin a new system it is important to study the system that will be
improved or replaced. We need to analyse how this system uses hardware and
software.
4.1 Problem Statement
Users may receive their bills late and Lack of management of files or records
and it Users may receive the wrong bill and Erroneous results in bill
calculations.
4.2 Preliminary investigation
As compared with the Billing System Software in Java. We got a Better
Application Which is Based With Login System of Employees Which Will Use
the billing System. As the billing system we are Working on Grocries There
Will be Particular Items Which can be billed. Through our Billing system
Software. The employee can Calculate the bill and can generate the bill in One
Operation. The Billing System we used can calculate GST as well.
4.3 Feasiblity Study
Technical Study
The current hardware and software technology of our system is capable of
accomplishing user requirement in this software and within the time and budget.
For this feasibility study, we studied complete functionality to be provided in
the system as we described in the System Requirement Specification (SRS) and
checked if everything was possible using different type of front end and
backend platforms.
Economical Study
It is the most important aspect while developing the project. We decided the
technology based on minimum possible cost factor. All the hardware and
software cost should be estimated properly. The benefit should be received from
the proposed system will surely overcome the initial basic cost and later on
running cost of the system.
Operational Study
Operational feasibility assesses the extent to which the required software
performs a series of steps to solve business problems and user requirements.
This feasibility is dependent on human resources (software development team) a
involves visualizing whether the software will operate after it is developed and
be operative once it is installed.
5 System Design
It is process of defining a modules which defines the architecture of system to
satisfy specified requirement.
