ANXIETY TOOLKIT FOR KIDS

HERE’S 10 THINGS YOU CAN DO WHEN YOU FEEL FEARFUL, WORRIED, NERVOUS

Think of your favorite things: your pet, your best friend, your favorite superhero.

Check to see if you are in danger, and if you’re not, tell yourself, “I’m safe.”

Give yourself a big hug or ask your parent for a hug.

Have a glass of cold water.

Listen to music.

Read a funny book.

Take as many deep breaths as you need.

Count slowly backwards from 10.

Go for a walk outside.

Go on a scavenger hunt outside for a flower to smell,

a smooth rock to feel, grass to roll around, etc.

A BIG thank you Katrina Niere, MS, LMFT for compiling this handy list for us.
