<Customer Information>

Subject: PoC Letter of Understanding

Dear <Customer Name>,

IBM is delighted to accept your invitation to perform an IBM Collaboration Proof-of-Concept (PoC)
for you. IBM will provide, at no charge, the relevant IBM software and the IBM resources used as
part of the PoC. We will mutually develop a PoC plan, which will be included in a detailed
Document of Understanding for the PoC (see attachment). The plan may involve use of your
resources, including facilities, equipment, software, staff, data or other materials. If your
resources are included in the PoC, you will provide those items at your expense. At mutually
agreeable times during the PoC we will meet to review progress, and at the conclusion of the PoC
we will present the PoC results to you.

If the PoC plan requires one or more copies of the IBM software to be installed on your equipment,
it will be provided under IBM's applicable program evaluation license agreement. We will each
retain ownership of our respective materials. If it is necessary to exchange any confidential
materials, it will be done under the appropriate existing Agreement for Exchange of Confidential
information (AECI). Because this is a demonstration, neither of us will be liable to the other for
failure to accomplish specific results or otherwise.

We are confident in the capabilities of our products, and look forward to a successful PoC, and a
productive, long-term relationship involving our products and solutions.

Regards,

requirements, environment, criteria, and estimated time required for the Proof of Concept (PoC).
The PoC includes the implementation of IBM software and customization to integrate into
<CUSTOMER NAME>’s non-production environment. The work will be performed by IBM’s IT
Specialist(s) within a test environment as a Proof of Concept.
Only to the extent necessary for IBM to fulfill its obligations under this DOU, you,<Customer
Name>, agree to allow International Business Machines Corporation and entities within its
Enterprise to store and use your contact information, including names, phone numbers, and
e-mail addresses, anywhere they do business. Such information will be processed and used in
connection with our business relationship and for the purposes of this PoC only. Nothing in this
section changes or amends IBM's obligations to you under any signed confidentiality agreement
between the parties.
Requests to change this DOU may be made by either IBM or <Customer Name>. Since any
proposed change in this DOU may result in a change to the schedule or the terms and conditions
of this DOU, both IBM and <CUSTOMER NAME> must authorize it. The authorization to
investigate a change prior to approval must be granted by both IBM and <Customer Name>.

Project Dates
The PoC will begin on <Begin Date> and complete on <End Date>. A formal customer

Classic Meetings
 Pre-Sametime 8.5 clients cannot participate in voice chat and video calls using the Sametime
8.5 Media Manager server
 Default bitrate (CIF 352x288@15Fps 384kbps)
 6 -person video limit in chat or meeting
 10-person audio limit in chat or meeting
 For a positive audio video experience a network latency of no more than 100 milli-seconds is
required between the clients and servers. In addition a network bandwidth of of 200-300
kbps is required per video stream between clients and servers. A network bandwidth of
30-40 kbps is required per audio stream. The network bandwidth requirements will vary
depending on the quality of audio, video, and number of streams selected.

 Sametime video codecs provide many resolution choices, from SQCIF to Wide Full HD
(1080p). The higher the resolution, the more CPU, display memory, and graphics card power
are required. Machines equivalent to Lenovo T60 can handle CIF and VGA, but HD will
require Intel Core 2 Quad or better CPU and at least 256 megabytes of display memory.

Memory All supported OS Under minimal load, Quickr Domino can
function with 2G of RAM. However, 4G
is an optimal starting point for RAM in a
production environment.
Processor AIX 32-bit support only. Quickr Domino will
be able to run in 32-bit mode on an AIX
64 bit server, but there won't be
exploitation of the 64-bit capabilities (if
any) of the processor. Processor speed
should be 1GHz at a minimum.
Production environments should
consider the Pentium 4 processor at 2.5
GHz, or equivalent, or faster processors.

IBM Quickr J2EE 8.5

This document outlines the system requirements for the IBM® IBM® Quickr™ V8.5 family.

These are the minimum product levels that need to be installed before opening a problem report with the
IBM IBM Quickr Support team. Because other products frequently ship fixes, updates, and new releases,
testing every configuration is not possible. In general, you can install and run with updates to supported
products if those updates are forward compatible.

The supported product can run, but does not need to run, on the same machine or operating system where
the IBM IBM Quickr runs. Check product-specific software requirements to determine whether software
runs native or connected to IBM IBM Quickr. You can refer to this Web Page for more details:

Appendix C: Pre-PoC Action Items to be Completed by
<CUSTOMER NAME>

The following items MUST be in place in order to proceed with an optimized IBM Connections
installation. If these items are not completed prior to IBM’s arrival – the installation time
interval will be adversely affected.
In preparation for the onsite installation and configuration of IBM Quickr, <CUSTOMER NAME>
should complete the following action items:

Pre-PoC Action Item Date Completed

1. Communication plan to OS, RDBMS, LDAP, and Network
administrators of their involvement in the PoC. The
following requirements are needed by the following
Administrators:
2. The following is required by the LDAP Administrator
a. LDAP – A BIND ID is required in order for IBM
Connections application server to perform lookups
against the LDAP User Registry. The user needs
to have “READ” access to the following
Objectclasses – User and Group Objects.
b. LDAP – The BIND ID needs to have “READ”
access to all User and Group attributes within the
above Object classes.
c. LDAP – The minimum attributes required to be
populated for the BIND ID are:
cn, sn, givenName, mail, uid, and password
3. The LDAP User Registry should not do referrals – all users
that will be included in the PoC must be located in a single
User Registry database. This is especially important in
Active Directory LDAP environments.
4. The following required LDAP Groups (for Quickr J2EE
only) are needed in addition to the BIND ID account. These
are:
a. wpsadmins – should contain the BIND ID as a
minimum member of this group
b. wpsContentAdministrators – should contain the
group wpsadmins as a minimum member
c. wpsDocReviewer – should contain the
wpsadmins as a minimum member
5. O/S Administrator – Windows: When Windows is the O/S

Platform – the following platform requirements are needed:
a. A Local O/S Account is required – no Domain
accounts. Once the application environment
has been installed – domain accounts can be
used for Remote Access purposes only.
b. The local O/S account must be an Administrator
account and/or a member of the local
Administrators Group
c. The O/S Account requires the following local
Windows Local Security Policies – User Rights
assigned
- “logon as a service”
- “act as part of the operating system”
- “create process level token”
- “create a token object”
6. O/S And Network Administrator – In order for the Quickr
Server to retrieve RSS Feeds – access to the Public
Internet is required by the server. If a Firewall/Proxy is
required for the Server to access the Public Internet – then
please add the server to the “Allowed” list of hosts in your
Firewall.
7. O/S And Network Administrator – please provide the Proxy
Server/Firewall information (if required for user’s access to
the public internet by their Browsers) so that Quickr can be
configured with this information.
8. O/S and Network Administrator – the Quickr server (as well
as supporting back-end server systems) must be part of a
DNS system. Our application systems ONLY use “fully
qualified hostnames” for access.

NOTE: Local Host files can be used but will create

additional administrative overhead and not recommended
9. Obtain hardware that meets the minimum requirements
listed in Appendix A. If using VMWare “virtual Hosted O/S
images” – these must meet the minimum hardware
requires as well.
10. Install and configure a supported server operating system
– please ensure that the minimum O/S revision levels are
installed ahead of time.
11. Configure PoC server within <CUSTOMER NAME>
network environment
(Servers should be connected to an IP network which can
be accessed by the IBM on-site technical staff and the pilot
user population)

12. Obtain information required to configure IBM IBM Quickr
with the designated LDAP Technology (see Appendix D)

Appendix D: Information Required to Configure IBM IBM
Connections
This section should be completed as part of a planning session with customer prior to IBM’s arrival onsite.
