IBM Collaboration POC DOU Template 2017
IBM Collaboration POC DOU Template 2017
<Customer Information>
IBM is delighted to accept your invitation to perform an IBM Collaboration Proof-of-Concept (PoC)
for you. IBM will provide, at no charge, the relevant IBM software and the IBM resources used as
part of the PoC. We will mutually develop a PoC plan, which will be included in a detailed
Document of Understanding for the PoC (see attachment). The plan may involve use of your
resources, including facilities, equipment, software, staff, data or other materials. If your
resources are included in the PoC, you will provide those items at your expense. At mutually
agreeable times during the PoC we will meet to review progress, and at the conclusion of the PoC
we will present the PoC results to you.
If the PoC plan requires one or more copies of the IBM software to be installed on your equipment,
it will be provided under IBM's applicable program evaluation license agreement. We will each
retain ownership of our respective materials. If it is necessary to exchange any confidential
materials, it will be done under the appropriate existing Agreement for Exchange of Confidential
information (AECI). Because this is a demonstration, neither of us will be liable to the other for
failure to accomplish specific results or otherwise.
We are confident in the capabilities of our products, and look forward to a successful PoC, and a
productive, long-term relationship involving our products and solutions.
Regards,

Introduction
IBM is pleased to present <CUSTOMER NAME> with the following IBM Collaboration Proof of
Concept. The success criteria for this Proof of Concept are highlighted below.
The purpose of this non binding Document of Understanding (DOU) is to describe the scope,
requirements, environment, criteria, and estimated time required for the Proof of Concept (PoC).
The PoC includes the implementation of IBM software and customization to integrate into
<CUSTOMER NAME>’s non-production environment. The work will be performed by IBM’s IT
Specialist(s) within a test environment as a Proof of Concept.
Only to the extent necessary for IBM to fulfill its obligations under this DOU, you,<Customer
Name>, agree to allow International Business Machines Corporation and entities within its
Enterprise to store and use your contact information, including names, phone numbers, and
e-mail addresses, anywhere they do business. Such information will be processed and used in
connection with our business relationship and for the purposes of this PoC only. Nothing in this
section changes or amends IBM's obligations to you under any signed confidentiality agreement
between the parties.
Requests to change this DOU may be made by either IBM or <Customer Name>. Since any
proposed change in this DOU may result in a change to the schedule or the terms and conditions
of this DOU, both IBM and <CUSTOMER NAME> must authorize it. The authorization to
investigate a change prior to approval must be granted by both IBM and <Customer Name>.
Project Dates
The PoC will begin on <Begin Date> and complete on <End Date>. A formal customer
demonstration and the results of the PoC will be presented on <Demo Date>. IBM Software
installed to support this Proof of Concept must be removed upon completion of the Proof of
Concept, or purchased. Installed software includes IBM Connections, IBM Notes and Domino,
IBM Verse, IBM Traveler, IBM Sametime,.
Project Scope
PoC Purpose
The purpose of this PoC is to showcase the collaboration tools to <CUSTOMER NAME> business
users, and to prepare for an eventual implementation performed by <CUSTOMER NAME> / IBM
Software Services for IBM / Business Partner.
The time frame needed to install, customize and demonstrate the IBM software at <CUSTOMER
NAME> will be determined by several variables:
Equipment availability
Final evaluation plan deliverables
Availability of support staff from <CUSTOMER NAME> and IBM

Success Criteria
The successful demonstration of the following requirements will constitute a successful proof of
concept.
The purpose of this PoC is to gain sufficient knowledge of IBM IBM Collaboration tools and the
components within <CUSTOMER NAME>’s environment in order to move forward with an
eventual full implementation (e.g., development, test, and production environments). This
knowledge will be gained via the following activities:
<IBM Sales Team – PLEASE NOTE: Below are a sample set of Success Criteria that has been listed
here. This list SHOULD/MUST be modified based on the customer’s specific needs and
requirements. This section should always be changed to reflect the customer’s desired Success
Criteria.
Thus, it is important that the IBM Team understand the customer’s success criteria ahead of time in
order to complete this section. This not only determines the customer’s completion criteria but
also impacts the amount of time it will take to implement the PoC.>
Limitations of Customization
1 Requires external access of Domino Server running Traveler for Mobile Devices for communication
2 Additional data sources may be required in order to populate other Profiles data elements for users
Page 7 of 84
Any customization, meaning changing any aspect of the IBM products “look & feel” that is
considered “out-of-the-box” (EX: Branding of Connections UI), shall be limited to what is
documented in the respective IBM Product Information Center. This ensures that any
customizations that are part of this PoC will be a “supported” configuration per IBM Support
requirements.
<CUSTOMER NAME> and IBM pre-sales technical specialists will perform these activities. The
IBM technical specialists will conduct informal knowledge transfer throughout the entire PoC.

Memory All supported OS Under minimal load, Quickr Domino can
function with 2G of RAM. However, 4G
is an optimal starting point for RAM in a
production environment.
Processor AIX 32-bit support only. Quickr Domino will
be able to run in 32-bit mode on an AIX
64 bit server, but there won't be
exploitation of the 64-bit capabilities (if
any) of the processor. Processor speed
should be 1GHz at a minimum.
Production environments should
consider the Pentium 4 processor at 2.5
GHz, or equivalent, or faster processors.

This document outlines the system requirements for the IBM® IBM® Quickr™ V8.5 family.
These are the minimum product levels that need to be installed before opening a problem report with the
IBM IBM Quickr Support team. Because other products frequently ship fixes, updates, and new releases,
testing every configuration is not possible. In general, you can install and run with updates to supported
products if those updates are forward compatible.
The supported product can run, but does not need to run, on the same machine or operating system where
the IBM IBM Quickr runs. Check product-specific software requirements to determine whether software
runs native or connected to IBM IBM Quickr. You can refer to this Web Page for more details:

Platform – the following platform requirements are needed:
a. A Local O/S Account is required – no Domain
accounts. Once the application environment
has been installed – domain accounts can be
used for Remote Access purposes only.
b. The local O/S account must be an Administrator
account and/or a member of the local
Administrators Group
c. The O/S Account requires the following local
Windows Local Security Policies – User Rights
assigned
- “logon as a service”
- “act as part of the operating system”
- “create process level token”
- “create a token object”
6. O/S And Network Administrator – In order for the Quickr
Server to retrieve RSS Feeds – access to the Public
Internet is required by the server. If a Firewall/Proxy is
required for the Server to access the Public Internet – then
please add the server to the “Allowed” list of hosts in your
Firewall.
7. O/S And Network Administrator – please provide the Proxy
Server/Firewall information (if required for user’s access to
the public internet by their Browsers) so that Quickr can be
configured with this information.
8. O/S and Network Administrator – the Quickr server (as well
as supporting back-end server systems) must be part of a
DNS system. Our application systems ONLY use “fully
qualified hostnames” for access.
