This section will outline the steps to connect the In-Sight camera (or emulator) to the network. IP Address: Each device on a network must have a unique IP address of form XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX,
where XXX = 1 to 254. Example: 192.168.0.5
There are two types of Networks: The Subnet is a group of networked In-Sights with similar IP addresses. Subnet Mask defines
which part of the IP address refers to the network and which part refers to the host.
- Static IP Address The subnet mask must be the same for all devices on a network. Example: 255.255.255.0.
- IP Addresses and subnet mask are assigned by person (Network Administrator) NOTE: 255 means all IP addresses on this subnet are identical in this position.
- Stays the same with power cycling 0 means each IP address is different in this position.
- Dynamic IP Address
- IP Addresses and subnet mask are assigned by server (computer) In a static network, a person specifies the subnet mask. In a dynamic network, the DHCP server
- Might change with power cycling, depending on the server assigns the subnet mask.
NOTE: In-Sight can be configured on either type of network. There are three types, or classes of subnet masks. The class of a particular subnet on a network is
