PATEROS TECHNOLOGICAL COLLEGE 1
I. Case Summary
Billy Johnson started Johnson properties 25 years ago as he bought his own
unit. As the business was getting bigger, he trusted a set of people to keep
runnig things smoothly on his different sites. To lessen his work, he got five
different managers to do manage the other areas of the company for him.
Nearly having a retirement, he trusts Molly, his assistant for years to do the
work. Molly has been labeled a "bitch" by her coworkers because of her
attitude. She was only nice to her boss and acts way different to everyone.
Despite of having huge fights with the other employees, Molly receives a
protection under Billy. Making her coworkers think they're having an affair.
Meanwhile, Beth, a fresh high school graduate is a new employee. But
despite of that, she does her job well. Needing a few tabs for the manual
she's been working on, she approached Molly despite of knowing her
background. Molly, not being so polite as ever, threw the tabs to her face to
give Beth a taste of her bad attitude. Beth shouted and they fought. So
Wayne, Beth’s' manager came in to help Beth. After making Beth come back
to her work place and letting her cry, Wayne took Beth’s' place and fought
with Molly. After a few shouts, Wayne passed by Beth who made Beth
curious to what Wayne did. Until Beth made a decision and told Wayne she
was quitting.
II. Statement of the Problem
1. Assume you are the property manager in the head-quarters office. How
should you respond to this situation? What can you do to correct this
situation?
2. How should Wayne Black have responded to Beth?
III. Objectives
The purpose of this case is to acknowledge that not all of us are good people;
you will meet once more people with ugly behavior and indifferent behavior
especially when money and the state of living are high. And it can also to let
other people know that there are people that are not true to the behaviors
they are showing to get what they want and to fool others
IV. Areas of Consideration
The company should consider fixing Molly’s' attitude. She may have skills and
is able to do her job very well; his attitude is not giving the other employees a
healthy working environment. Also, Beth should consider staying before
quickly quitting the company because of her emotions.

V. Alternative Course of Action
Despite of her attitude, maybe it is disregarded because of her skills. Billy
Johnson might be focuses on to what she can do rather than her attitude. But
to make possible adjustments, Billy must talk to Molly in order to make her
aware on how her actions affect the company. Johnson’s properties might
lose skilled young employees such as Beth if she continues to have this
attitude. Molly and her work mates should be encouraged to get along with
each other. To make that happen, Billy must give them a team building
activity to create a bond between them. To understand each other.
VI. Conclusion
Everyone should focus on to what good things Molly can do and Molly should
start to do adjustments to make things work. Beth also needs to be strong
enough to stay because having a work mate with a bad attitude doesn't only
exist in one company. She might encounter this kind of situation again and
she has to know how to deal with it properly without walking away.
