The Boy Scouts of the Philippines - La Union Council aims to continuously improve leadership through basic training courses for unit leaders. A three-day course will be held from March 10-12, 2017 at Cubal Elementary School in Agoo, La Union. Rationale:

Boy Scouts of the Philippines – La Union Council aims to continuously improve its
organizational function. Hence, one of its regular programs is the conduct Basic Training
Courses for Unit Leaders for all Sections; ensure the achievement of the BSP vision
statement by providing new and prospective Unit Leaders with a three (3) day Basic Training
Course whereby they will be able to develop in themselves the will to actively involved in
Scouting and thus ensuring the effective delivery of the Scouting Program and the
achievement of the BSP mission which focuses on the assessment of its structure, programs
and projects vis-à-vis its targets..

Objective:

At the end of the training course, the participants should be able to:
1. explain why Scouting is a very effective contributor to the solution of the problems of
Philippine Society;

2. make plans for self-development in order to strengthen their capability in performing their
responsibilities as Adult Leaders;

3. plan the activities necessary for the effective development of the character of their Scout
Section thereby enabling them to be responsible, disciplined, concerned, and self-reliant
citizens in their home and their institution;

4. participate in a Commitment Ceremony as an outward sign of decision to accept fully


and wholeheartedly Scouting, its vision statement, its principles, the Scout Method, and
the policies of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines.

Participants:
- Must be currently registered with his/her unit.
- Physically fit as evidenced by a duly accomplished Physical Examination Form.
