Field Study Report: Classroom Observations

The student observed three different classrooms during their field study assignment at Igpit Elementary School. On the first day, they observed a 4th grade class where the teacher engaged students in a lesson about antonyms. On the second day, they observed a preschool class where the young students were active but well-managed. On the last day, they observed a special education class making banana cream where the teacher skillfully guided the students through each step of the cooking process despite their disabilities. The student found the experience at the school to be very educational.

My Narrative Report in
Field Study 6

In our field study we observed a classroom with pupils and teacher inIgpit Elementary
School for our requirements in Field Study 6 on becoming a 21st century teacher. I am one of
the student who were assigned in Igpit Elementary School.

In our first day I observed a grade 4 students, and the advisor was Ms. Piit. Teacher
Piit warmingly welcomed me to have in her class. Teacher Piit greeted her pupils and did the
drill, she asked her pupils for the last meetibng’s lesson and her pupils excitedly answered
that their lesson last meeting was all about the synonyms. Teacher Piit acknowledged the
answers of her pupils. After that she began her lesson for that morning and the lesson was all
about the Antonyms, there were some students in her class that had a very good vocabulary
and answered. Teacher Piit let her pupils to participate in her class, she asked some of her
pupils to go to the board and answer the given activity. After the discussion she gave an
assessment wether her pupils understand the lesson. She gave her pupils time to answer the
given tests. Our observation there was wholeday.

On our second day we decided that we will observe in the morning only because we
have some things to do that day in the school. We proceed to our respective classes to be
observed, and that day I was observing a preschoolers. The teacher welcomed me and
introduced me to her pupils. The pupils were so active in the class but the teacher handled
her pupils well.

On our last day of observing. I observed a SpEd class by Ms. Nathalie Ragodon. In the
SpEd class there were (6) six pupils all in all in her class. The children were special in their own
special ways, for me it isn’t easy to handle a pupils like them because they have different
personalities, but teacher Nat handled them nicely and with care. On that day the SpEd class
had an assessment, they were cooking a Banana Cream and teacher Nath taught her pupils
on how to cook banana cream, her pupils wear an apron, hand gloves, and a masks, she
taught herpupils step by step procedures and as I observed them, even thou it was difficult
for them to understand easily, I saw it with their movements and eyes that they were
determined to learn how to cook bananacream and I am so amazed by them because they did
a very good job that day. Despite og their disabilities they managed to make things on their
own special ways. And I am so thankful that I observed a class like that and a pupils like them,

I am thankful that we went to Igpit Elementary School, because the teachers

welcomed us . as I observed, I have lots of new knowledge and learnings in that school.
