Methodologies used for achieving the objective are descriptive study and a
research. For achieving the objective, I have done one research using an
online questionnaire. The title for the research is “Understand the targeted
audience behaviour”.

Main findings of the research are given here. Indian students are highly
information seekers. They collect more information about any institution
before opting for it. Internet penetration in India is key player for this
phenomenon. Most of Indians are getting stimulus through advertisements,
but they are not reaching to end phase of students mind. More details about
findings are given this report.

The successful completion of this project indicates that the future of

marketing is in the hands of digital media.
Chapter-1
Introduction
Introduction

Social media marketing is the use of social media platforms and websites to
promote a product or service. Although the terms e-marketing and digital
marketing are still dominant in academia, social media marketing is
becoming more popular for both practitioners and researchers. Most social
media platforms have built-in data analytics tools, which enable companies
to track the progress, success, and engagement of ad campaigns. Companies
address a range of stakeholders through social media marketing, including
current and potential customers, current and potential employees, journalists,
bloggers, and the general public. On a strategic level, social media
marketing includes the management of a marketing campaign, governance,
setting the scope (e.g. more active or passive use) and the establishment of a
firm's desired social media "culture" and "tone."

When using social media marketing, firms can allow customers and Internet
users to post user-generated content (e.g., online comments, product
reviews, etc.), also known as "earned media," rather than use marketer-
prepared advertising copy.
Objectives of social media marketing

1) Generating A Lot Of Leads

One of the most important things for the business is to make sure that they
are able to have some amazing leads for their businesses. Leads will help
your website get the most relevant traffic.

For different kinds of businesses, there are different sorts of leads and that is
why having befitting Social Media Marketing Objectives helps businesses
target the most relevant audiences through their marketing campaigns.

Some brands might focus on getting more customers and some would focus
on other things.

But the main agenda here is to make sure that people become more and more
interested in the business which is very important.

So, make sure that you have lead generation as your number one goal if you
want to make your business successful.

Strategies that can help marketers generate leads via Social Media are-

1. Sharing links to the gated content

2. Running Social Media Contests
3. Use of paid Social Media Advertising
4. Hosting webinars, hangouts or live videos
5. Enable geo-targeted search for location-based lead generation
6. Opt for targeted Social Media Listening

2) Increasing The Sales

The whole point of having a business is to make sure that you are able to sell
the products and the services that you provide, right?

So, you can easily use social media in order to do that.

Increasing the sales of the company should be a major agenda for any
particular business on the internet. But most people don’t even know about
that. Social media can be a really powerful tool in increasing the sales of the
company.

The more people see about your services and products on social media, the
better it will be for your brand. So, you need to keep this in mind for sure.
This is one of the most important social media marketing objectives, so
make sure that you don’t miss it, people.

For this, you need to know where your audiences are and then accordingly,
you need to customize and schedule your content posting. You can use
Keyhole tool to know where your audiences are. For instance, if you run
B2B business, LinkedIn and Facebook are the platforms where your most
relevant audiences would be.

You can also include Influencer Marketing Strategy in your Social Media
Campaigns. Using loyal customers as brand advocates can also be useful for
you. In addition, user-generated content and Social Media Advertising can
also be fruitful for you.

3) Engaging With The Outer World

Just because you have a business doesn’t mean that you only have to spend
time with it. I mean, if you want to make sure that people choose your brand,
then you need to interact with the people as well. Social media is the perfect
tool for that.

If you make contacts with the clients and customers that you have, then you
will see that more and more people are interested in your brand.

Not just that but you also need to connect with influencers and other
businesses as well. But how are you going to do that?

Well, this is where social media again takes the game away. With the help of
social media networking, you can easily engage with more people and also
the people that really matter to the internet.
Social Media is one of the most powerful platforms for widening the reach
of businesses. With analytics tools, you can know inclinations and presence
of your audiences. Accordingly, you should engage and convert them.

4) Increase Your Influence Over People

Till now we have only talked about how it is important to make contacts
with the people. Now we are telling you that you need to expand the network
that you have as well.

You need to make sure that people know how influential you are. So, social
media can again be a great help in that. It can optimize your brand
recognition and let people be aware of your unique highlights in the most
effective and result driven manner possible.

There are so many different types of platforms where people sharing

interests, can come and have discussions over topics and sub-topics. Well,
you can easily make some new networks and connections over here. The
more you talk about stuff, the more people will get you.

You need to establish yourself as a subject expert that will automatically pull
in those people who are in search of industry or niche experts. This will
optimize your presence on the web to boost your authority and conversions.

5) Get Your Reputation High Up In The Sky

Well, we don’t literally mean the sky but we mean that you need to have a
good reputation in the online world in order to make sure that your business
is a success.

There is no doubt about the fact that word travels really fast around in the
world of social media.

If you want people to talk positive about your business, then you need to
have a reputation like that. Social media reputation is a very important
objective for the business.
See that people know and respect you as a brand. Only that way you will be
able to make an effect on people and ultimately your business will have a
blast. Having an Online Reputation Manager can be highly useful for you.

Including Social Media Listening and Social Media Monitoring in your

marketing strategies is very significant for ensuring the needed online
reputation for your brand.
Literature Review

I.Introduction

Today almost every internet user is familiar with these two words
irrespective of their profession,
Nationality , culture, race or religion etc. This concept is only a
decade old but has reached every social and
economic class of our society. Blackshaw & Nazzaro (2004) have
beautifully defined social media in the
beginning of the era of social media, as the new source of online
information, where the information itself is –
created, initiated, circulated and used by consumers for the purpose of
educating each other about products,
brands, services, personalities and issues. According to Chi (2011,
46), social media marketing is a connection
between the brands and consumers, that offers a personal channel and
currency for user centered networking and
social interaction.
The way of communication has changed with the evolution of social
media, and every business
irrespective of its size has a presence on social media. This review
examines current literature on social media
and social media marketing. The focus of this research is to
understand the relationship between the two
concepts and finally reach to certain conclusion. For the purpose of
this research we have examined the
literature available on social media and its functional blocks in the
beginning of the paper and then we have
studied the dimension social media marketing tools. The purpose is to
study the relationship between the
functionalities of the social media and the dimension of the social
media marketing in order to redefine the
concept.
II. Defining Social Media
Kaplan and Haenlein (2010) define social media as “a group of
Internet based applications that build on
the ideological and technological foundations of Web 2.0, and allow
the creation and exchange of user
generated content.” According to Kaplan and Haenlein (2010) web
2.0 is a platform where content is
continuously altered by all operators in a sharing and collaborative
way. Web 2.0 is a web based technology
which helps to create highly interactive platforms through which
individuals and communities share, co-create,
discuss and modify user –generated content. Social media are the
websites which are build upon the
technological foundations of web 2.0 that help a user to create user
generated contents that can be shared. This
technology allows a user to create and publish the content on the
social media networks. This information can be
shared with other members of the social media website, who are
connected with the user. This process is
interactive where other members can also respond in different ways.
Mangold and Faulds (2009) describe ―social media as the set of
online word of mouth forums which
includes blogs, discussion boards, forums or social networks to name
a few. Using all mobile and web-based
technologies, social media creates highly interactive platforms by
bringing together individuals and creating
communities. Internet has a lot of websites; each of them has different
functional attributes and caters to
different sections of society. Websites like facebook are for general
masses but LinkedIn is focused on
professional networking. Media sharing sites (i.e. YouTube, Picassa
and Flickr) or blogging platforms (i.e.blogspot, wordpress) are also
members of this ecosystem called social media (Kietzmann et al.,
2011).Social media has equipped the organization to establish an
direct relationship with the consumers. Both of the
organizations and consumers are free to generate content on the web
pages, which further leads to conversations
and discussion. Organization on one end are provided with an
opportunity to share their information with a large
base of customers and on the other end consumers are also free to
publish any content whether positive or negative regarding the
communication.

III. Social Media Marketing

Social media marketing is a new marketing strategy which almost
every business is adopting to reach
their consumers on the virtual networks. If you have an idea and you
want it to reach millions, at a very little
cost, then social media is the only way-out. Entertainment companies
were the first to adopt the social media as
a promotional tool. Weinberg (2009) has defined social media
marketing as the process that empowers
individuals to promote their websites, products, or services through
online social channels and tap into a much
larger community that may not have been available via traditional
channels. So if we keep it simple, social
media marketing is the process where organizations use social media
websites to build rush on their company
official websites. It does not stop here but organizations also inform
the potential customers of happenings in the
organization, launch of the new model or product and latest news
about the organization through social media
applications.
Gordhamer (2009) has related social media marketing to the
relationship marketing where firms need
to shift from “trying to sell” to “making connections” with the
consumers. This explanations of social media marketing takes us to
the other side of marketing, where building relations with the potential
consumers is the key to repeated purchases and enhanced brand
loyalty. Social Media is an innovative tool that organizations use
for creating a very strong public relation with the customers on the
virtual networks (Jan & Khan, 2014).
Maintaining public relations through social media has become easy
because a large number of potential
consumers are available on the virtual networks. And making
connection with consumers using social media is
only some clicks away. Today‟s customers are more powerful and
busy; therefore, companies should be
reachable and available in every social media communication channel
such as Face book, Twitter, Blogs,
Forums at any time (Gordhamer, 2009). Exploiting the opportunities
provided by the social media.

individual student. We do not have fixed norms for every student. We take into
consideration the needs and the abilities of the student before defining any path. This
allows the student to understand his strengths and weaknesses. We counsel the students to

course.
Country, Educational Institutions & Program Selection

niche for themselves.

Conversion events
After the initial rounds of recruitment activities in the regions, we provide a platform to
the intuitions for conversion events. These events help the intuitions to meet students who
have already applied. The universities have an edge in these conversion events, as they
inform the students about their programs and facilities, and subsequently increase their
confirmations. We organize these events in order to have a sequential workflow between
the students and universities.
Organizing specialized events
We often organize specialized events where we cater to the requirements that institutions
have. We organize events in all our regions designed specifically according to the
requirement of the institutions. These include information sessions, seminars, application
workshops and school visits. In these events we talk about the universities, creating a
platform for them in order to enhance their business.

Pre-screening of admission application

Our selection of a student is based on the academics and the overall profile of the student.
We perform a pre-screening of the admission applications. Our team of expert counselors
explains the eligibility criteria and the entire process to the students, prior to lodging the
admission application. We perform a thorough verification of the documents submitted
by the students. This helps us to deliver quality applications to the institutions. Once we
find a conformity between the student and our protocols, we then take the process further.
Thus, we try to source eligible students who are promising and focused.
