Review of The Literature and Conceptual Framework

This chapter reviews literature related to the impact of cooking and home food preparation on knowledge and interventions. Most existing research focuses on home food preparation, cooking knowledge, and how interventions affect respondents. However, little research has explored the process of food consumption. The conceptual framework presents the independent variable of home food preparation and the dependent variable of academic performance of junior high school students. The study aims to test the null hypothesis that there is no significant relationship between these two variables.

REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE AND CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

CHAPTER 2
This chapter presents the review of related literature and related studies which the researchers
believe to gave relevance on the study. This includes data from different resources such as the
internet, some these output and other materials which truly helped in shedding light to the
present inquiry.

RELATED LITERATURE
The purpose of this study is to add research around the impact of cooking and home food
preparation with knowledge and interventions of these respondents. The current literature
researching cooking in the field of Home economics related to cooking, food and beverage and
bread and pastry. The large majority of cooking related literature consist of studies related to
Home Food Preparation, knowledge to cooking and the intervention of the respondents towards
the study. Also, while this literature review focuses on cooking, it is important to note that the
majority of current literature surrounding similar topics looks at the impact of food and food
consumption but have largely ignored the process leading up to consumption of these foods. If
mentioned, it is often as a secondary party of the study. This chapter will topically organize
existing research on home food preparation and provide an overview of major themes in order to
point out areas where more exploration and understanding is need.
Conceptual Framework

The conceptual framework of this research study entitled: “Home Food Preparation, its
relationship to the Academic Performance of Junior High School in San Pablo National High
School” ,presents the twin variables.

This study, its formulated title, “Home Food Preparation: Its relationship to the Academic
Performance of Junior High School in San Pablo National High School” has considered
variables- the independent and dependent variables.

The independent variable of the study is the “Home Food Preparation” which is expect to
ascertain its link to the “Academic Performance” of the students, the dependent variable.

With the information on the variables and meeting the essential for the research site, the
researcher, then proceed to the field to gather the needed data.
Research Hypothesis

This study established the null hypothesis below which was tested at 0.05 level of significant for
Acceptance or Rejection.
Ho: There is no significant relationship between Home Food Preparation and Academic
Performance.
