General Description

The KCB Series gear oil pumps, horizontal rotary pumps are suitable for transferring various lubrication
fluids such as crude oil, heavy oil and industrial light oil, etc. The temperature of the greater than 10˚C. It
is not adiptable, however, for the gear oil pump to convey those fluid medium with too much sulfur, hard
grain inpurities and corrosive substance as well as those medium of high volatility and low flash point,
such as gasoline, benzene, etc.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

KCB series gear pumps are self priming positive displacement. By the rotation of a pair of gears an
explanding cavity is formed at the inlet of the pimp and liquid is carried along the wall of the pump
chamber where the meshing of the gears compresses the product and forces it out of the discharge port.

KCB series oil pump is composed of body, gears, bearing stand, relief valve, bearing as well as oil seals.
Apart from the pump of model KCB adopting single row radial bearings, those of other models are all
equipped with copper-based power oilless bearings.

Construction and features

KCB series oil pump is composed of body, gears, bearing stand, relief valve, bearing as well as oil
seals. Apart from the pump of model KCB adopting single row radial bearings, those of other
models are all equipped with copper-based power oilless bearings.
There is a gland box on the bearing standfor axial sealing. The model KCB pump is equipped with
mechanical seal while those pumps of other models are sealed at each end by three oil resistant
rubber incorporated with an intermediate distance collar. The oil sealing can be adjusted by
tightening two nuts on the cover.
Cone type relief valve serves to open automatically for relieving partial to entire high pressure
oil to return into the low pressure chamber to avoid any accident.
After finishing the assemble of the oil pump, the oil pump and motor are connected by a flexible
coupling and installed on a common iron base.
KCB gear pump features compact construction, easy operation and maintenance. The
components are made of high quality steel and pricesely machinedand quality is excellent and
reliable
The pump has fine self priming performance without any necessity to fill in oil before starting it.
It is self lubricated by means of transferred oil without any addition for lubricating oil during its
operation.
Power is transmitted to the pump by means of the flexible coupling so as to compensate any
small error, if any occurring in the course of installation. In case any unavoidable hydraulic
impact happens during operation od the pump, the coupling serves a good buffering effect.

POINTS FOR ATTENTION DURING OPERATION

A. INSTALLATION
1. Before installation, it is required to check up whether the motor is affected by damp or
there is damage to the dust-proof covers of pump inlet or exit, which might lead to dirt
things into the cavity.
2. Clean the inner wall of tube by means fresh water or steam before installing the tube.
During mounting the tube, pay attention to not adding the weight of tube on the pump
in order to avoid damage of the pump.
3. Any leakage of air or liquid in the fittings of the tube is not allowed otherwise failure of
suction of oil may occure.
4. In order to prevent any grain impurities from ingressing into the pump, if necessary,
mount a filter gauge at its suction port.
B. INSPECTION BEFORE START PUMP
1. Check all the fasteners to make sure they are tightened
2. Check the driving shaft to make sure it is rotating easily
3. Make sure the valves on the pipeline of the inlet and outlet are open
4. Make sure the pump rotates in accordance with the required direction. The standard
motion is clockwise from the extending shaft end
C. MAINTENANCE PUMP DURING OPERATION
1. Pay attention to the reading on pressure gauge and vacuum gauge, and make sure it
accordance with the specified technical specifications of the oil pump.
2. Take care of the gland and leakage of oil, if any you should screw the gland cover
according to the concrete leaking condition (too much tightening of the gland is not
allowance in order to avoid overheating of the gland and rapid wearing of oil seal.
3. When abnormal noise of temperature rise too high is found during running the pump,
immediately stop the pump and make necessary inspection.
