Self Care
Toolkit
Hi! I'm
Introduction Alison
Thank you for downloading the Self Care Toolkit!
In the following pages, I'm going to cover several self care
checklists for various areas of your self care and well being.
Use these lists to be more mindful and make self care a
more regular habit.
Additionally, I'll be sharing some of my absolute favorite
self care tools. These are optional, but can definitely
augment your self care practice!
Let's jump into it!
If after this checklist you feel ready to step up your game,
consider taking a look at the "Self Care Spree" - a self care
challenge that teaches actionable lessons leading to actual
change.
Self Care Toolkit
Basic Self Care
Did I get 7-8 hours of sleep today?
Did I drink enough water? (Aim for 8 cups)
Did I eat 3 meals?
Did I brush my teeth today?
Did I take my vitamins and any prescribed meds?
Did I make my bed today?
Did I MOVE around for at least 30 minutes?
Have I laughed?
Did I take a break from my phone?

Tools: Basic Self Care
Eye Mask:
This sounds goofy, but I always have an eye mask on hand
to sleep with. That way, if I'm out of town or my husband
goes to bed late, I can block out light easily and sleep more
soundly.
Skincare:
I have dry skin and eczema, so part of my self care
involves really nurturing my skin. I've been using Yu.be
moisturizer for over 6 years (!!!)
Water:
I carry around a huge water bottle with me everywhere. I
drink lot more water when I don't have to refill constantly
or drink from cans and bottles. Water impacts my energy,
skin and overall well-being.

Emotional Self Care
Did I love and respect myself today?
Did I allow myself to cry, experience joy and feel my
feelings today?
Have I laughed today?
Did I spend time with someone I enjoy today?
Have I given myself affirmations today?
Have I expressed my outrage in social action, letters,
donations and positive actions today?
Did I stay in contact with people who are important to
me today?

Affordable Counseling:
I'm a huge fan of BetterHelp online counseling and an actual
user. A month of online counseling cost the same or less than
just one session for some therapists. Click here to fill out their
questionnaire and check it out.
Laughter:
There are some things that make me laugh pretty consistently,
and one of those things are funny YouTube videos. I'll link
three surprise videos here...
Video 1 // Video 2 // Video 3
Did you know I make videos about the awkward art of self
improvement? Those might be helpful too. Watch them here.

Spiritual Self Care
Did I make time to reflection today?
Did I spend time with nature?
Have I been open to inspiration?
Am I open to not knowing today?
Have I read anything encouraging today?
Did I meditate or make time to be quiet or pray today?

Power And Thought Cards
Louise Hay is the author of a book that helped me a lot,
but what I want to mention here are her Power Thought
Cards. Someone gave this deck of 64 cards to me, and
they are a super easy way to practice mindfulness and
affirmations.
The Language of Letting Go
This book by Melody Beattie was another huge awakening
for me. Written for those of us who struggle with
codependency, these daily meditations offer growth and
renewal, and remind us that the best thing we can do is
take responsibility for our own self-care.

Workplace Self Care
Did I take a break today?
Did I take time to chat with someone today?
Have I made quiet time to complete tasks?
Did I do anything exciting or rewarding? (Hint:
Find ways to reward yourself for milestones)
Did I create a checklist of priorities?

Looking for more?
Thank you so much for downloading this toolkit!
I truly hope it proves useful.
If you're looking for more, I recommend diving into what I
call my "Self Care Spree".
Many self care challenges are helpful, but fail to dive into
the WHY of the actions they promote.
The Self Care Spree will take you through transformational
lessons and exercises that will not only help you feel better,
but will promote continued happiness, contentment and self
care maintenance.
Go here to learn more.
To your contentment,
