A Semi Detailed Lesson Plan based on Classical Conditioning

Grade: 9 Semester: 1st semester
INTRODUCTION:
A lesson plan is a teacher's description of the subject of instruction for a lesson. It tells how the
teaching should progress with the contents of the lecture. It will include the content and activities to be
fulfilled for a set timeline. This lesson plan is designated for the students in Grade 9 and the topic we
have chose is, “Cupid and Psyche”, written in the 2nd Century by Lucius Apuleius Madaurensis. A story
that tells to trust love over fear. The principle we will use is Classical Conditioning by Ivan Pavlov where
the student received a reward for participating, then the rest will be active to participate by knowing
that the teacher will give them a surprise reward for answering the given questions.
Topic: Cupid and Psyche
Learning Competency: - Appreciate and value the works and techniques of the writers on
international literature.
- Explain the biographical, literature and enhance the student’s learn about
the 8 parts of speech by reading the story.
Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, students are expected to:
- Identify the true meaning of relationship after reading the story.
- Read the given sentences correctly and vividly with expression.
- Students will understand the difference between past tense and present tense.
- To make them realize that being envy to someone is a bad thing to feel.
Materials:

b. Photocopies of the Story
Procedures:
a. Preparatory Activities:
1. Prayer and greeting
2. Checking of attendance
3. Review from the previous lesson
Ask the students about the following question:
a. Have you fall in love to someone?
(Answer: Yes.)
b. What is matter the most in this generation? Looks or morals?
(Answer: In this generation, sad but truth, most of them choose good looks
rather than good morals because when your partner is a good-looking one,
you are lucky in the eyes of everyone especially to the youth.)
b. Development of the Lesson
1. Motivation:
- The teacher will ask questions about the feeling of being in love and envy to
someone.
1. How can you say you are in love to someone?
2. What are the reasons why you are envy to someone?
- The teacher will present the visual aids in front and the students need to
connect the pictures of things from youngest to oldest and it is called, “Open Your
Hotspot.”
2. Presentation:
The teacher will:
- Distribute the photocopy of the story
- Read the story
- Introduce the Author and the his technique
- Explain and discuss the important details of the story
- Ask some questions.
a. Who is Cupid’s wife?
b. What are the qualities of Psyche which made Venus jealous about?
c. Is Cupid considered as an angel?
d. What did Venus tell her son to do to Psyche?
e. What is the name of Cupid and Psyche’s child?
3. Activities: (for enrichment of the lesson)
The students will be grouped into 4 members and write the past tense and present
tense of the given root word and construct a sentence each of the answers.
Materials needed:
a. Paper
b. Pen
(This activity is a simple test for them if they know how to distinguish
the past tense and present tense.)

4. Application
The teacher will call randomly who will present their works and read it in front of
the class.
Example: Love.
Loving- I never stopped loving you.
Loved- I am loved even I am a sinner.
c. Evaluation:
For the evaluation, students will write at least 3-4 sentences on their individual paper
the realizations after the story being told.
d. Assignment:
Draw a thing that related to Love, Trust, Loyalty and explain their works.
