Number of Triggered Procedures: CS Fallback
Number of Triggered Procedures: CS Fallback
Counter
The counters measure the number of CS fallback procedures that are triggered after the eNodeB
receives CS fallback indicators from the MME. During a CS fallback procedure, the MME sends a UE
Context Modification Request or Initial UE Context Setup Request message containing the IE CS
Fallback Indicator to the eNodeB. Then, the eNodeB triggers the CS fallback procedure. The fallback
mechanisms include blind redirection, blind handover, redirection, and handover.
Measurement Point
As shown at point A in Figure 1, the L.CSFB.PrepAtt counter is incremented by 1 each time the eNodeB
receives an INITIAL CONTEXT SETUP REQUEST message containing the IEs CS Fallback Indicator
and LAI from the MME.
As shown at point A in Figure 2, the L.CSFB.PrepAtt counter is incremented by 1 each time the eNodeB
receives a UE CONTEXT MODIFICATION REQUEST message containing the IEs CS Fallback Indicator
and LAI from the MME.
As shown at point A in Figure 1, the L.CSFB.PrepAtt.Idle counter is incremented by 1 each time the
eNodeB receives an INITIAL CONTEXT SETUP REQUEST message containing the IEs CS Fallback
Indicator and LAI from the MME.
As shown at point B in Figure 3, the L.CSFB.E2W counter is incremented by 1 each time the eNodeB
triggers a CS fallback procedure to the WCDMA network after sending a MOBILITY FROM EUTRA
COMMAND message to the UE, the L.CSFB.E2W.Idle counter is incremented by 1 when the UE is in idle
state. Note that the eNodeB determines whether the UE is in idle or connected state based on the
signaling procedure.
As shown at point A in Figure 4, the L.CSFB.E2W counter is incremented by 1 each time the eNodeB
triggers a CS fallback procedure to the WCDMA network after sending an RRC CONNECTION RELEASE
message to the UE, the L.CSFB.E2W.Idle counter is incremented by 1 when the UE is in idle state. Note
that the eNodeB determines whether the UE is in idle or connected state based on the signaling
procedure.
As shown at point B in Figure 3, the L.CSFB.E2G counter is incremented by 1 each time the eNodeB
triggers a CS fallback procedure to the GERAN after sending a MOBILITY FROM EUTRA COMMAND
message to the UE.
As shown at point A in Figure 4, the L.CSFB.E2G counter is incremented by 1 each time the eNodeB
triggers a CS fallback procedure to the GERAN after sending an RRC CONNECTION RELEASE
message to the UE.
