PeopleSoft 9 Upgrade Expert Tips

The release of PeopleSoft Enterprise 9 is another example of Oracle’s commitment to


protect, extend and evolve customer investments. PeopleSoft 9 delivers best-in-class
functionality and a superior ownership experience, while leveraging the benefits of
Oracle’s Fusion Middleware. In preparation for Fusion applications and/or to maintain
on the leading edge of technological innovation, many clients are implementing and
upgrading to this latest release.

Upgrading can be a game of “lessons learned the hard way”; therefore, many clients are Company Capsule
thinking of upgrading but are waiting to hear testimonials, tips, and tricks. CedarCrestone
recently polled their upgrade team—who is actively working on upgrades to PeopleSoft Corporate Headquarters:
Alpharetta, GA
9—requesting that they provide feedback on the overall upgrade process. Upgrade
team members provided the following insight into what clients should consider prior to Primary Business:

• Verifying that all upgrade flags you need are checked before continuing
• Making sure you get the latest upgrade requirements from PeopleSoft before beginning Key Services:
• Downloading only the updates and fixes applicable to your upgrade Implementations, Upgrades, Host-
ing, Lab, and Managed Services

The integration of Oracle’s PeopleSoft 9 release with Fusion Middleware enables


clients to capitalize on key technologies such as Oracle BI Publisher, Oracle Business
Activity Monitoring and Oracle Customer Data Hub. PeopleSoft 9 will provide industry-
centered enhancements delivering greater functionality in business processes.
