3) The pedal of the vibraphone remains down for the entire piece. Use a heavy weight
to accomplish this. The motor remains on throughout, medium speed.
4) One pair of vibraphone mallets are used throughout the work. They must have rattan handles.
5) If 3 triangles of different sizes are not available, the part can be played on one triangle.
6) The suspended cymbal used should be of the “China type”, if available.
7) Let the suspended cymbal and triangles ring at all times.
8) All rolls are single-stroke rolls. The maraca (or shaker) roll is actually a “swirl” whereas
the wrist turns ina circular motio:
9) The bongo should sound higher in pitch than the snare dram, even though notated below it.
10) Many of the vibraphone passages can be executed with a sticking pattern similar to the
