KVS is organizing cl;.cft."<ra ~ 'Q'cfi'cfT tJa- with an aim to promote National


Integration, appreciation for Indian Art & Culture and bringing out the talent of students
and teachers. This year cl;.cft."<ra ~ 'Q'cfi'cfT tJa- will be. held at New Delhi from
31st October to 03rd November 2019 and this programme will have 3 groups of events
as under:
Group - A: Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat :
1. Objectives of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat are as under:
i. TO CELEBRATE the Unity in Diversity of our Nation and to maintain and
strengthen the composite fabric of traditionally existing emotional bonds between
the people of our country.
ii. To PROMOTE the spirit of national intergration through a deep and structed
engagement between all Indian States and Union Territories through a year-long
planned engagement between States.
iii. To SHOWCASE the rich heritage and culture, customs and traditions of either
State for enabling people to understand and appreciate the diversity that is India,
thus fostering a sense of common identity.

Procedure
1. Each contingent will be led by Deputy Commissioner as Contingent Leader and
supported by two Contingent Managers {1 male & 1 female Principals)
2. The winners of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat will participate in Kala Sangam organized by
MHRD. Similarly, winners of Music & Art Teacher competition will participate in
National Sangeet Kala Sangam 2019.
3. KVS Rashtriya Ekta Parv 2019 (EK Bharat Shrestha Bharat, KVS LltFest and KVS Teachers
Music and Art Competition) will be held at New Delhi from 31st October to 03rd
November 2019.
4. The Deputy Commissioner, KVS RO Delhi will organize the event in a befitting manner.
Further, The Deputy Commissioner, KVS RO Delhi is requested to submit a detailed
Action Plan along with estimates by 31st July 2019.

The modalities

1. The details of States and countries which will be taken up by different regions for cfi".~.~

~ 'lfcili"nT qct - 'Q'cfi" Rmr ~ Rmr 2019-20 are provided in enclosed Annexure - 1.

The Social Science teachers and students are to be encouraged to collect and prepare
the best references/articles/materials etc. for the presentations to be displayed at the
School/Cluster/Regional and National level competition_. Every region will bring Three

Projects at the cl;.~.~ ~ Vcf;nT qa- - 'Q'cfi" Rmr ~ Rmr as per Annexure -III.

2. To strengthen the idea of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat and exhibition cum competition of

artefacts will be organized at National level. Regions will display the artefacts and

projects of paired States and Countries prepared by students in cl;.at~ ~ 'lfcili"nT qct

to showcase the rich heritage and art forms of the different parts of the Country and
World. Students will get all type of support from Kendriya Vidyalayas in preparing these
artefacts. Each region will be provided with adequate space to display the artefacts and
projects at National Level Parv. Two Students (01 Boy and 01 Girl) will represent the

region to present projects and artefacts. These students shall be in attire of allotted
state and country. The result, photos and videos should be uploaded on website of
'
KV/Region concerned immediately after the event at KVJ and Regional. Level. Photos and
Videos should be posted on Facebook & Twitter.
3. The school level Ekta Parv should be conducted as inter Class Competition. The PGTs and
TGTs of Humanities group and Language group should be allotted duties through an
Office Order and this should be recorded in Self Appraisal Part II of the APAR for the year
2019-20 of-the teacher who is contributing towards the preparation for the aforesaid
competition. It is-expected that school level Ekta Parv should be conducted in a befitting
manner by inviting parents, VMC and other stakeholders.

5. The Regional contingent shall comprise maximum 81 students. The Regional contingent
shall be escorted by a maximum of 08 teachers (including two accompanists and with
adequate number of lady teachers). The details of regional team are' given in
Annexure-11.
6. The National Level ~.cft'.'Q'll" ~ - 'Qcfi'nT

qcf is scheduled from 31st October to 3rd

November, 2019 at New Delhi. The Deputy Commissioner, KVS Regional Office; New
Delhi will make all necessary arrangements to organize the National Level event in a ,
befitting manner. The details of National events will be intimated by the· Deputy

Commissioner KVS Regional Office Delhi shortly.

, 7. · ~.cfi.\?lr ~ 'Qcl;ffi' qt_ 2019-20 must be held at School, Cluster and Regional level.

Selection of students, team and projects must be made judiciously. Parents, Neighboring
Schools, important local personalities are to be invited for the Exhibition being organized
at School, Cluster and Regional level. This event at all levels must be conducted with
enthusiasm and earnestness so that the aim and objective of the event is fully realized.

8. It is the responsibility of the organizers at each level to maintain utmost transparency in


selecting the winners. The organizers have to ensure neutrality and the judges appointed
should be from outside KV system for fair selection of teams at each level. The
competition may be video graphed. Social Media accounts of KV/Region may be used to
popularize the event.

9. A pre- National Camp may be organized at Regional Level for Regional team. Eminent
Artist/Resource Persons from reputed art & Culture organizations (like Spic Macay etc)
should be engaged to train students. The venue Principal for this camp should ensure
compensation of academic loss to the participants and the same should be supervised by
the Assistant Commissioner.

10. The Deputy Commissioners are requested to note that the list of participants along with
escort teachers who are participating at National Level should be uploaded on the
Regional Office website.

11. To promote National Integration, the Regional team which participated in National Level

~ 'Qcl;ffi' qt - ~ m«r ~ m«r (63 students) will be taken for visit to the allotted

States during winter break or any other time as per convenience.

12. The student Exchange programme will be of 5 days and the team will be headed by a
Vice Principal and a team of escort teachers ( with sufficient number of female teachers).
The Regional Office will prepare the tour programme and inform it to the Deputy
Commissioner of host Region well in advance to make necessary arrangements.

13.The host Region will arrange the stay in Kendriya Vidyalayas for visiting team. The
Deputy Commissioner of host region will prepare plan of activities for visiting team that
include excursions to 2 or 3 places of Cultural & Historical interest, workshops, meeting
with eminent local artists, performance programmes of local art and culture, hand
holding activities on dance, drama, songs, food, dress, handicrafts etc. where students
of visiting team will learn and appreciate the culture of local state. The winners at
National Level on the spot painting group song, group dance & theatre will
represent KVS in Kala Utsav organized by NCERT.

14. The expenditure incurred for students' Exchange Programme will be borne out of
Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi of Vidyalaya concerned. If VVN of Vidyalaya is not sufficient it
should be supplemented by Regional Offices from KVS Regional VVN Account.

Details of Events

ANNEXURE - IV

Guidelines for conduct of cli".cft.!ffi ~ ~ ftlfctt

1. Group Dance
Group Dance to be presented by the Region must be related to the
State/Country allotted to the Region. Maximum time allowed for the dance
will be 06 (six) minutes including the announcement. Number of
participants allowed on the stage will be six to ten and minimum with four
persons including the Music Teacher for background music and song. No
person from outside KV will be allowed to play/sing. Pre-revised cassette
or any other recorded device will not be allowed. The group dance will be
performed in the costume of the State and Country concerned.

2. Group Song
Duration of the Group Song will be 4-5 minute including the
announcement. The number of participants allowed on the stage will be
6-10 with 05 persons including the Music Teacher for background music.
The group song may be in the language of the State and Country allotted
to the Region. The theme of the song may be patriotism, national
integration, Social Cohesion, Youth/women empowerment or the folklore
of the State and Country. The division of marks will be as under:-

The announcement of Song/Dance should not take more than 15 seconds.

3. Theatre
There will be a play on any theme related to social issues (i.e. issues
related to gender, population, health environment, education etc.) and the
language will be English and or Hindi. The duration of the skit will be 10
to 12 minutes. The venue Principal should ensure proper light and sound
arrangement for the event based on the requirement of the skit. The
concerned regions are advised in their own interest, to keep the stage
resources and requirements to the minimum. Basic stage materials will
be provided by the venue Principal. The best play selected by region will
be sponsored for the Nationals. Division of marks for the event will be as

4. On-the-Spot Painting

• Theme will be given to the students for the On-the-spot Painting


Competition. The theme will be disclosed on the same day of the
competition.
• The maximum time to be allotted 90 minutes.

5. Solo Singing Competition

The theme would be folk song of the state/country allotted to the region/
Geet/Gazal (non-filmy). The region concerned will ensure that the entries
are suitable in terms of decency of lyrics. It should be ensured that the
student in the Solo Singing competition should not be included in the
group song competition and vice-versa.

The participant may be provided background musical accompaniment by


up to 3 other students but the accompanists should be from the
participants already selected for other activities of KVS Ek Bharat
Shrestha Bharat. No additional participants should be selected specifically
for the same. The division of marks will be as under:

6. Solo Classical Dance
Solo Classical dance is to be presented by the Region must be of Indian
Classical dances. Maximum time allow for the dance will be 5 minutes
including the announcement. It is responsibility of the participant to come
prepare with background song/music. The participant has to attend with
pre recorded music system.

7. Solo Instrumental

The instrumental competition will include any instruments such as Sitar,


Flute, Guitar, Banzo, Harmonicas, Accordions, Violin etc. for semi classic
cal music. Percurssion instruments can be used as accompanist only. It
should be ensured that the student in Solo Instrumental competition
should not be included in the Group Song/ Dance Competition and vice-
versa. The participants will be allowed to use two accompanist students or
teachers from the participants selected for other activities. The division of
marks will be as under.

8. Display of Artefacts
The artefacts should represent rich Culture arts and values of the allotted
state Stalls will be allotted for each region to display the artefacts. The
area of stall will be intimated later by the Deputy Commissioner, KVS RO
Delhi. The stalls should be attractive, colorful and enrich with high
standard artefacts depicting art and culture of allotted states and country
so that the message of national integration can be disseminated
effectively.

9. Project
The following steps to be taken for writing the report of project
work

1. Data - collection or Survey

3. Reporting (writing)
4. Conclusions/predictions
5. Acknowledgement
6. Bibliography - mention all references.
7. A certificate in the beginning claiming that the work is original - signed
by students, Teacher guide and principal

Project work should include the following:


Project should be a group work of 2 to 5 students. The compilation of
report should be specifically 20 to 25 pages. Project should include
photographs, illustration, drawing, graphs etc. The main content of Project
should be primary data.

NOTE: - Project work doesn't include the following.


Preparation of charts or models and copying material from text-books /
books are not included in the Project. Copying material from text-books
or taking print out from internet, cut and paste information from internet
should not be included.

Guidelines for conduct of KVS Litfest
. ;
1. Debate

The topic for English/Hindi debates has already been intimated.

Each region will sponsor two speakers one 'for' and the other 'against' the
motion separately for Hindi and English. The debate will be of 05 minute
duration of which minimum 01 minute must be (repeat must be) devoted
to rebuttal and repartee. The first two speakers; one 'for' and the other
'against' the motion will be given only four minutes and one minute at the
end for their share of rebuttal and repartee. The first Speaker speaking
for the motion will be given one minute for rebuttal after both the
speakers have spoken. The division of marks for the debate will be as
follows:

The aim of the exercise is to discourage cramming and to encourage


spontaneous speaking with Logical thought process, pronunciation, fluency
and confidence.

2. Quiz
Quiz will be another regular feature of the National Integration Festival.
The quiz will be conducted in English and the theme will be "Life and
Philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi". It will be in two rounds. The
preliminary round will be a written round in which maximum two students
from every region will participate. Four top scoring teams will qualify for
the final round. In the final round, the selected team will be represented
by two students of the region concerned. The quiz will be verbal with
audio & visual round.

3. Sanskrit Shloka Recitation/Hindi Kavya Path/English Elocution

One student of each group (classes VI to VIII & classes IX to XII) will
represent the Region at National Level. The topic/theme of the selected
shloka/poem may be patriotism, national integration, social cohesion,
youth/women empowerment or folklore. The division of marks will be as
follows:

4. Spell Bee
It is a competition of English word spelling. One student of each qroup' \. ··
(Classes VI to VIII & Classes IX to XII) will represent the region at
National Level. A screening test will be conducted at National Level and
best five students from each category will be selected for Final Spell
Bee contest.

5. Creative Writing
One student of each group (Classes VI to VIII & Classes IX to XII)
will represent the region at National Level. The competition will be
in Hindi & English. One student will participate in Hindi & another in
English. The topic will be announced on the day of competition.

6. Story Telling

The objective of Story Telling Competition is to build confidence in


using Language, to improve Listening and Speaking Skills and, to
provide an opportunity to express in an interesting, authentic and
creative manner. Stories presented can be authentic, adopted or
originally written. Stories presented must not touch on sensitive
issues, such as Race, Religion, Stereotyping , politics etc. Stories must
be thematically educational. Props, Backdrops and sound effects are
not allowed. The duration of story shall not exceed 03 minutes. Time
limit shall be strictly enforced. Story must be memorized and not read.
Hand movements and facial expression are allowed but dramatization
is prohibited.

Language proficiency:- 15 Marks


Presentation/Delivery:- 15 Marks
Theme/ Storyline:- 15 Marks

speech etc.

Presentation and delivery includes voice modulation, voice projection

Themes/ Story lines includes interest, appeal, significance, impact of


meaning, coherence and integrated values.

Story Telling may be in Hindi or English.

Guidelines for conduct of Teachers' Music and Art Competition .

I. The competition would be for Teachers only
II. The maximum time allotted is four minutes including
announcement.
III. The division of marks for vocal competition would be as under:-

accompanists only.

2. Guidelines forArt Competition

1. Contest will be first held at the regional level for all the TGTs (Art
Education) in the respective regions. Thereafter, four winner entries from
each region shall be brought to Delhi for presentation.
2. Categories of works: 4 entries may be selected as follows:-

a. 3 Art works - (Creative work/ Traditional/Folk work/Realistic


works)
b. 1 Artifact - (three-dimensional representative or abstract
forms, especially by carving stone or wood or by casting metal or
plaster or Natural material etc.,)

3. Art work should be Contemporary Art - Realistic or Semi Abstract


or Traditional and folk including miniature works.

4. Material:- Acrylic on Canvas ; Poster/water colour or Natural Colour on


the medium of the tradition or Mixed media.

The description therefore shall be given in the entry form indicating the ..
medium and material used. · · "',

5. Size: The work should be presented in either of the following


sizes:
a. Size of 2 x 3 Ft (including frame size)- for painting
b. Size 2x 1.5 ft (including frame size- for painting
C. Size 2 ft height for sculpture

6. Framing- Plain frame of 2" width in Natural wood colour with appropriate
mounting; If the work is done on canvas it should be framed.· Otherwise
the art work should be placed on plain mounting of 1.5" before framing. It
is to be ensured that no special design to be used for frames to avoid
influence of frame on art work. The size of the art work therefore may
have to be worked out by the artist.

7. Principle of neutrality and universal appeal should be maintained in the


works. The work done should not have any scope for adverse impact on
any sentiments. Therefore, no controversial objects shall be included.

8. Focus of the work should reflect the creativity of the artist, clarity of
message and aesthetics.
