Transformer Soak Pit Design PDF

This document provides calculations for sizing soak pits for transformers at a power plant. It calculates the dimensions and volumes needed for soak pits for various transformers ranging from 40MVA to 2.5MVA size. For each transformer, it determines the net volume required based on the transformer's oil quantity and the estimated water volume for a 10 minute spill. It then sizes the main soak pit to accommodate the largest transformer's total oil and water volume plus a 10% margin for oil, ensuring the pit volume is greater than the required amount.
