Story of Candi Sewu

In ancient times, the powerful Kingdom of Prambanan was ruled by King Baka. Another kingdom, Pengging, was led by the knight Bandung Bondowoso who had an army of jinn. Bondowoso attacked Prambanan in an attempt to take it over. After winning, he saw Roro Jongrang and wished to make her his queen, but she agreed only if he could build a thousand temples and two wells overnight with his jinn army's help. Roro Jongrang secretly signaled for dawn early, tricking the jinn into leaving before they finished. As punishment for failing, Bondowoso turned Roro Jongrang into the thousandth statue.

in ancient times there was a great kingdom, namely Prambanan.

At that time the decisive king was King


Baka. The small kingdom around him was also obedient and respected by the king, Prabu Baka.

In another place there is a large kingdom also called the Kingdom of Pengging. This kingdom has a knight
named Bondowoso. Bandung is more famous by the name of Bandung Bondowoso which is because he
has a weapon called Bandung.

He also had an army of jinn who was often used to help him fight and allow wilaya and attack other
kingdoms. One day he brought out an arrogant king to attack the Prambanan Kingdom. To succeed the
plan, Bandung Bondowoso asked for the help of jinn to reach the Prambanan Kingdom.

After winning this battle, Bandung Bondowoso gathered to arrange the kingdom to share property, and
Prabu Baka's family. At that moment he saw a very beautiful woman and he admired her. The woman is
Roro Jongrang.

Bandung Bondowoso asked Roro Jongrang to become his queen. This time he was confused because he
actually hated Bandung Bondowoso, who had denied it. But he was afraid to refuse. Finally he had the
idea to make a thousand temples and 2 wells overnight.

Bandung Bondowoso also agreed to the terms. He was able to finish it because he had a lot of help from
the Jinn army. At night, Bondowoso gathered his army and carried out orders to help him build the
temple.

Roro Jongrang secretly brought and he was nervous. He thought hard to make Bondowoso fail in
fulfilling his requirements. Then he asked for help from the residents so that - day was asked for dawn
so that the genie who helped him would soon leave.

Court ladies, e, burn the straw so the sky appears red. The sound of dimples began to sound. The
fragrant smell of flowers began to smell. But the champion was starting to meet and shop with a shout.

This incident left the army because they thought it was morning. Bondowoso Knowing that Roro
Jonggrang approached him and said that Bondowo failed to fulfill his request. Bondowoso was so angry
that he condemned Roro Jonggrang to be the thousandth statue.
That is the story of the history of the formation of Prambanan Temple or often known as Roro Jongrang
Temple. While the surrounding temples are called degan Candi Sewu.
