1. "The three principles of morality propounded by Kant can be used for determining (2.5)
whether a moral action is right or wrong." Discuss this statement using suitable examples.

2. What are the seven need levels in Maslow's hierarchy of needs? Discuss these using (2.5)
suitable examples from everyday life.

3. Can we improve our mental health by learning about some of its characteristics? Discuss (2)
this with reference to the characteristics of mental health.

4. The value spectrum for a good life contains multiple types of values. Discuss. (1.5)

5. A ringmaster in a circus wants to teach a lion how to jump into a ring. What are the four (2)
different types of reinforcement schedules that this person can use? Explain each of these
schedules using suitable examples.

6. What are the three major determinants of perception? Discuss these using suitable (3)
examples.

7. a) Discuss the phenomena of Halo Effect and Contrast Effect as biases in perception. (1.5)
b) Discuss Attribution theory and the three factors that we use for attributing behavior to be (1.5)
whether internally or externally caused, with suitable examples.

8. The total cost function of a firm is TC= 4500+3Q+ 6Q2+ 2Q3. Determine the level of (2)
average cost, average variable cost and marginal cost at 10, 20, 30 and 40 units of output.

9. Discuss optimum input combination of inputs. What are the criteria for the least-cost (2)
combination of inputs?

10. Rahul utilizes all his income on shopping while buying food and clothing. When the price
of clothing decreases, he buys more clothing. Explain the effect on equilibrium point using
demand and supply curves.

Assume that a carpenter working alone can manufacture 2 chairs per day; 2 carpenters (2)
working in the same shop can manufacture 5 chairs; 3 carpenter. 10 chairs; 4 carpenters, 14
chairs; 5 carpenters, 17 chairs and 6 carpenters, 19 chairs. Explain the various stages of law
of variable proportion for this manufacturing process and determine when does the law of (2.5)
diminishing returns begin to operate?
