TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS OF UTM

1. Resolution of 0.01KN
2. Clamping jaws should be hydraulically operated and should be able to test ,
a. For round specimen 8- 45 mm.
b. For flat specimen 0- 70 mm.
3. Pair of compression plates of atleast 220mm dia
4. Bend and shear test attachments.
5. Menu driven software should be available which should be compatable with the
supplied hardware and is to be of atleast-
a. 2GHz Pentium dual core or higher with minimum 4GB RAM
b. 250 GB or higher HD drive
c. 512MB Directx 10.0 capable video card
d. CD –ROM drive, Mouse ,Keyboard,1024x768 resolution 32bit colour
monitor
e. 2USB serial port adaptor and additional USB ports for measuring devices,
barcode scanners, printer etc
f. Windows based latest operating system with Anti virus protection along
with compatible printer, UPS, sound card and speakers
g. Furniture for positioning computers and other accessories has to be provided
along with chairs for the operator.
6. Software should be capable of
a. programmed through key board for tensile, compression, transverse, bending
, shear etc
b. Provision of test results like Load and elongation at Yield, Peak load at
break, Yield stress, Ultimate stress etc. in SI units .
c. Built in facility for printing the test results and graph from PC.
d. Facilities like Statistical analysis, Statistical report, Compare graph facilities
and Graph super imposition should also available.
7. Auto detection of overload, over travel and specimen break should be available.
On detection of any of these conditions, the hydraulic motor should automatically
switched off.
