CONSTRUCTION METHOD
ITEM A.1.1 (8) –PROVISION OF FIELD OFFICE FOR THE ENGINEER ( RENTAL
BASIS)
The Contractor shall provide and maintain field offices and testing laboratories, including
all the necessary electricity, water, drainage and telephone services for the use of the Engineer
and his staff. The offices shall have at least the floor area prescribed on plans and shall contain
the equipment, supplies and furnishing specified in the contract.
ITEM B.5 – PROJECT BILLBOARD/SIGN BOARD
This item consists of providing a standard DPWH layout printed on tarpaulin with
wooden frame to be located at the front of the project site.
ITEM B.7(1) - CONSTRUCTION FOR SAFETY AND HEALTH
Provide and maintain throughout the duration of the contract, a medical room together
with all necessary supplies to be sited in the main area.
There shall be employ permanently on the site a fully trained Medical Aide who shall be
engaged solely from medical duties.
ITEM B.9– MOBILIZATION/ DEMOBILIZATION
This item consists of mobilization of equipment and materials needed during the
implementation of project and demobilization of the equipment and materials used after the
project.
ITEM 803(1)a - STRUCTURE EXCAVATION
Prior to excavation works, all areas within which the structure has to be accomplished
shall be completely cleared of trees, bush vegetation and other objectionable matters. All
excavation shall be performed to the lines, grades, and slopes and profiles shown in the drawings
or as directed by the Project Engineer.
ITEM 804(1)a – EMBANKMENT FROM STRUCTURE EXCAVATION
This item shall consist of the construction of embankments in accordance with this
Specification and in conformity with the lines, grades and dimensions shown on the Plans or
established by the Engineer.

ITEM 900(1) c2 - REINFORCED CONCRETE( structural concrete for footing slab) on fill
( class A, 28 days)
Concrete work includes construction of concrete structures complete in accordance with
standard specifications and in conformity with the lines, grades, thickness and typical cross-
section shown on the plan. This item consists of providing a structural concrete class A to the
reinforced & formed structural parts such as columns, footings, beams, concrete slabs, wall
footings. It includes the provision of formworks & false works materials properly positioned for
pouring at the required structural parts stated in the plans.
Concrete shall be placed only after all formworks, materials to be embedded, and
preparation of surface involved in the placing have been inspected and approved by the Project
Engineer. Curing shall be started as soon as the surface is sufficiently hard to permit it without
further damage.
ITEM 900(1) c3 - REINFORCED CONCRETE ( structural concrete for footing tie beam
on fill ( class A, 28 days)
Concrete work includes construction of concrete structures complete in accordance with

reinforced & formed structural parts such as columns, footings, beams, concrete slabs, wall

ITEM 902(1)a - REINFORCING STEEL OF REINFORCED CONCRETE
STRUCTURES, GRADE 40
Reinforcing steel shall be accurately cut and bent in accordance with the approval
detailed reinforcement drawings. Reinforcements shall be secured in position, inspected and
approved before pouring concrete.
ITEM 903(2) – FORMWORKS & FALSEWORKS
Concrete forms shall be mortar tight, true to the dimensions, lines and grades of the
structure and with a sufficient strength, rigidity, shape and surface smoothness as to leave the
finished works true to the dimensions shown on the plans.
Forms shall be removed in a manner, which shall prevent damages to concrete structures.
Forms shall not be removed without prior approval of the Project Engineer. Any repairs of
surface imperfections shall be performed at once.
ITEM 1000(1) – SOIL POISONING
This item shall consist of furnishing and applying termite control chemicals, including
the use of equipment and tools in performing such operations in accordance with this
Specification.
Before any termite control work is started, thorough examination of the site shall be
undertaken so that the appropriate method for soil poisoning can be applied.
The Contractor shall coordinate with other related trades through the Engineer to avoid
delay that may arise during the different phases of application of the termite control chemicals.
ITEM 1046 (2)a2- MASONRY WORKS (150 mm CHB Non-Load Bearing
The work includes furnishing and placing of concrete masonry units in conformity with
the lines, grades, and cross-sections shown on the drawings and in accordance with the
specifications.
Masonry walls shall be placed level and plumb all around. Walls and partitions shall be
structurally bonded or anchored to each and to concrete wall beams and columns. The first
course of concrete masonry unit shall be laid in full bed of mortar, for the full width of the unit;
the succeeding courses shall be laid with broken joints. Horizontal tie reinforcement shall be
provided where indicated. Reinforcement shall be continuous and provided in the longest
available lengths. Reinforcement above and below openings shall extend and shall be embedded
into the columns, unless otherwise shown on the drawings. Splices shall overlap not less than
150mm. Reinforcement shall be embedded in the mortar joints in the manner that all parts shall
be protected by mortar. Masonry wall surfaces shall be plastered, complete in every respect as
shown in the drawings.
ITEM 1046– WOODEN DOORS

The work includes the furnishing and installation of wooden doors in accordance with the
specification and as shown in the drawings. Doors shall be well placed and properly finished.
ITEM 1009(1)a – JALOUSIE WINDOWS (GLASS)
This item shall consist of furnishing all jalousie window materials, labor, tools and
equipment required as shown on the Plans and undertaking the proper installation in accordance
with this Specification.
All window frames shall be in place and rigidly anchored in a prepared opening before
any installation work is commenced.
Window opening shall fit commercial height of the vertical operating mechanism/jalousie
metal frames to avoid cutting of members.
ITEM 1005(5) – WINDOW GRILLS (window Accessory grills)
This item shall consist of all fabricated steel windows fully equipped with fixing
accessories and locking devices as shown on the Plans and in accordance with this Specification.
Corner of frame and ventilator shall be mitered and electrically butt welded with exposed
welds ground smooth. Head drips shall be provided where ventilator extend to the top of the
windows. Muntins shall be welded to frames. Muntin intersections shall be welded with flush
interior surfaces.
ITEM 1021(1)C – PLAIN CEMENT FLOOR FINISH WITH FLOOR HARDENER
This item shall consist of furnishing all materials, labor, tools and equipment in
undertaking cement floor finishing where shown on the Plans and in accordance with this
Specification.
Cement floor shall be finished level true to finish elevation as shown on the Plans Finish
topping shall have no visible junction marks where one (1) day’s work adjoins the other. V-cut
groove lines shall be provided where shown on the Plans or as directed by the Engineer.
ITEM 1027(1) – CEMENT PLASTER FINISH
After removal of formworks, reinforce concrete surfaces shall be roughened to improved
adhesion of cement plaster. Surfaces to receive cement plaster shall be cleaned of all projections,
dust, loose particles, grease and bond breakers.
Cement plaster finish shall be true to details and plumbed.
ITEM 1003 (17) – CARPENTRY & JOINERY WORKS
This item consists of providing a ceiling board to the area required in the project. The
material that shall be used as ceiling board shall be 1/4x4’x8’ ordinary plywood. Before the
installation of ceiling board, ceiling joist shall be installed first that will serve as a structural
member that holds the ceiling board. Ceiling joist size shall be 2”x2”. All sizes & dimensions
must be in accordance w/ the plans & specs unless otherwise specified by the Project Engineer
ITEM1047 – METAL STRUCTURES (ROOF FRAMING)
The work shall consist of steel structures and the steel structure portions of composite
structures, constructed in reasonably close conformity with the lines, grades, and dimensions
show on the Plans or established by the Engineer.

ITEM 1013(2)A – FABRICATED METAL ROOFING ACCESSORY (RIDGE ROLL,
GUTTER, FLASHING)
This item shall consist of furnishing all plant, equipment, tools, materials and labor
required to properly perform and complete the ridge/hip rolls, gutters, and flashing when called
for on Plans all in conformity with this Specifications.
Valleys, Ridge/Hip Rolls and Flashing when required, shall be installed before fastening
the roofing sheets with galvanized straps and rivets. One strap shall be riveted at each alternate
corrugation at the gutter line, the ridge line and at end laps and the straps bent around and nailed
to the purlins. Riveting at intermediate purlins between end laps shall be done at every fourth
corrugation. Rivets shall be provided with a galvanized mild iron washer below and one lead
and one galvanized iron washer above the sheet. Rivets shall be sufficiently long to permit
forming a hemispherical head. Riveting shall be done such that the lead washer shall be
compressed to provide a watertight fit around the rivet.
ITEM 1014 – ROOFING WORKS
This item consists of providing a roof covering to the area required in the project. The
covering must be a Ga. 26 Corr. G.I. sheet. Attached and installed w/ a tekscrew. Before
placement of Ga. 26 Corr. G.I. sheet cutters must be installed to the installed fascia board and
sealed w/ silicon at every joint of the gutter. During the installation of the Ga. 26 Corr. G.I. sheet,
also install a pre-fabricated roof ventilator so w/ the ridge roll & flashing. After this event, install
the heat proofing materials at the bottom of the Ga. 26 Corr. G.I. sheet with the proper method.
Apply silicon sealant in all the parts w/c requires a sealing material. All shapes & dimensions
must be in accordance with plans and specifications.
ITEM 1100 (30) – CONDUIT, BOXES AND FITTINGS
This item shall consist of the furnishing and installation of the complete conduit work
consisting of electrical conduits; conduits boxes such as junction boxes, pull boxes, utility boxes,
octagonal and square boxes; conduit fittings such as couplings, locknuts and bushings and other
electrical materials needed to complete the conduit roughing-in work of this project.
All works throughout shall be executed in the best practice in a workmanlike manner by
qualified and experienced electricians under the immediate supervision of a duly licensed
Electrical Engineer.
ITEM 1102 – POWER LOAD CENTER, SWITCH GEAR AND PANEL BOARDS
This item shall consist of the furnishing and installation of the power load center unit
substation or low voltage switchgear and distribution panelboards at the location shown on the
approved Plans complete with transformer, circuit breakers, cabinets and all accessories,
completely wired and ready for service.
The contractor shall install the Power Load Center Unit Substation or Low-Voltage
Switchgear and Panelboards at the location shown on the approved plans.
Standard panels and cabinets shall be used and assembled on the job. All panels shall be of dead
front construction furnished with trims for flush or surface mounting as required.

ITEM 1103 – LIGHTING FIXTURES
The contractor shall install the Lighting Fixtures at the location shown on the approved
plans.
All works throughout shall be executed in the best practice in a workmanlike manner by
qualified and experienced electricians under the immediate supervision of a duly licensed
Electrical Engineer.
ITEM 1002 – PLUMBING WORKS
Plumbing Works consist of furnishing all materials, tools, equipment and fixtures
required as shown on the plans for the satisfactory performance of the entire plumbing system
including installation in accordance with the latest edition of the National Plumbing Code and
this Specification.
Before any installation work is started shall carefully examine the Plans and shall
investigate actual structural and finishing work condition affecting all his work. Where actual
condition necessitates a rearrangement of the approved pipe layout.
ITEM 1032 – PAINTING WORKS
All surfaces shall be in proper condition to receive the finish. Woodworks shall be hand-
sanded smooth and dusted clean. All knot-holes pitch pockets or sappy portions shall be sealed
with natural wood filler. Nail holes, cracks or defects shall be carefully puttied after the first
coating, matching the color of the paint.
Paints when applied by brush shall become non-fluid, thick enough to lay down as
adequate film of wet paint.
Paints made for application by roller must be similar to brushing paint.
ITEM1018 – TILE WORKS
Before applying grout, cement surfaces shall be allowed to dry thoroughly. Clean
surfaces of all dirt, alkali and grease before commencing work. Grout shall be evenly applied and
free from sags, runs, crawls and other defects. All Tiles shall be of proper consistency, level and
well cleaned.
All tiles shall be properly cut in all edges before installation. Grouts as specified are
intended to cover surfaces perfectly, if surfaces are not fully covered, further coats shall be
applied to attain the desired evenness of the tile application.
ITEM 1101 – WIRES AND WIRING DEVICES
The work under this division consist of furnishing and installation of all materials,
equipment, tools, labors and all other services necessary to complete and make ready for
operation the Electrical Power and lighting system as indicated in the electrical plans in
accordance with the latest edition of the Philippine Electrical Code.
